well I gotta say, that is now how I expected the Rose Bowl to go. But on the bright side, both teams seem to have a ton of starters returning next year, so maybe there will be a rematch in 2011!

I guess since the 1930s, but then again, I don't know my pop music history well enough to know what really constituted as "pop" before the 30s so it might have been earlier than that.

I also think that the rise of mp3s has been an extremely positive thing for popular music. There are many artists who are able to get their point across in 3 minutes and there's no point in making those artists try to fill up a 45 minute LP with things they don't really need to say. The mp3 allows for the singles artist to exist in the realm of popular music.

I think the best thing to happen this decade was the blurring of the line between mainstream and underground. I suppose this tends to happen every decade, and next decade there will just be a new underground that will become part of the mainstream, but I think something that can be said of this decade that can't really be said of the other decades after the 60's is that experimentation became popular.

Sleigh Bells is coming out with an album, which should be awesome. They have a few terrific songs, but they were recorded in really poor quality, and they will be re-recording them in a studio. Yeah Texas could win it, college football is one of the hardest sports to predict, and when all of hte media is uniting behind one team (Alabama) it can very easily get to their head. I'm so excited for the Rose Bowl. Watching the Ducks this year was like watching a Disney sports movie. The infamously embarassing Boise State game, the Cal blowout, the USC semi-blowout, sending the Arizona student section back to their seats in a nail-biter of a game, and the most exciting civil war game the state has ever seen (in which our previously fallen hero, Blount, was forgiven and made some huge plays)...Even if we don't win the Rose Bowl, I'm still going to call this the best season I've ever seen one of my favorite teams play.

the problem isn't the mp3 player volumes, it's the earbud headphones. if something is going to be banned it should be the earbuds.

I guess I didn't mean to use the phrase "for sure," but it's still the game I'm most confident about as far as the big bowl games go. I'm not a big enough follower of the NCAA to pull up any stats or hard facts as to why Alabama is better, but I started watching more of the games near the end of the season and it looked like Alabama was having an easier time beating teams than Texas, and it also seemed like Alabama was playing better teams. So saying Alabama would beat Texas "for sure" was probably an overstatement, but it's still my only prediction I'm fairly confident about. And this is coming from a guy who didn't follow college football at all until I went to college (I was a freshman in 2007) As for the other bowl games I don't have very strong predictions that I can back up with anything, but I'm rooting for Boise State and especially for my school, Oregon.

Probably a good decision. The small amount of episodes they did were perfect, but I can't imagine the joke continuing to be funny for much longer

I was actually just about to post about how the best thing in Rolling Stone's list is the high placement of "1 Thing" in my opinion. Everything else about the list is pretty standard what I'd expect from Rolling Stone. Which isn't necesarrily a good or bad thing. I was just glad to see "1 Thing" get some major lovin because I majoryly love that song. in other news...razorblaaaades GALANGALANGALANG NOW!

Soooo...any opinions on the BCS games this year? Being a rational human being, I obviously think it's a scam. Neither Boise or Texas Christian gets the opportunity to prove themselves. Although I will admit that I am excited, as a Duck fan, since my team will be playing in what I bet will be the most entertaining of the bowl games, and I'm not just saying that because they're my team, I really do think it's the most interesting matchup.

Anyone who watches college football should really try to watch the Oregon/Oregon State game on Thursday at 6 (9 eastern time). Instate rivalry + the winner leads the pac 10 and goes to the Rose Bowl, and it's taking place at Autzen Stadium which holds the record for loudest volume ever recorded at a college football stadium (127 decibels)...there's just no way this isn't going to be an awesome game. Go Ducks!

I was pretty surprised by Beerfest, it looked like the kind of movie I would hate, but I actually thought it had a pretty good amount of funny parts.
