  1. yeah, that is such an awesome song. I agree, Hendrix definitely, another great example (I know I mention this song A TON) but voodoo child. Machine Gun shows it a little better though.
  2. I would say Kazaa. Its free and got a great selection. My least favorite is Rhapsody. If you put the songs on CDs, they skip, and they have a VERY limited selection. They had hardly any classic rock. In fact, they didn't have ANY Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest rock bands ever, but they DID have Dread Zeppelin, who I guess does covers of their songs, and parodys
  3. Led looks better than lead I think. Lead Zeppelin Led Zeppelin, just looks cooler
  4. yeah, I know hes a really good singer, I wasn't trying to insult him, I just asked a question! sheesh! You are jumping to conclusions too fast. You asume just because I ask one question im a homophobe. maybe im jumping to conclusions in saying that last sentence but...
  5. I think they just made that song up themselves, because I downloaded it on Kazaa as "Dumb and Dumber theme." funfact about d&d, sea bass, the guy in the restaraunt, his hat says "wine em, dine em, 69 em."
  6. yeah, I know hes a good drummer, but how am I being disrespectful of him? All I said is that Led Zeppelin stopped when he died.
  7. Was Freddie Mercury gay? I always thought he was just flamboyant. According to the Bohemian Rhapsody thread, he is, but then how did he get AIDS?
  8. yeah my teacher is always saying "go over like Led Zeppelin" and I always thought he meant you'll stop abruptly, like Led Zep did with Bonhams death. Nwo I know! Thanks
  9. What exactly is a led zeppelin?
  10. Nirvana and Pearl Jam JUST KIDDING! My favorites were, well, Nirvana, soundgarden, rageagainstthemachine, Guns n Roses, though my favorite by them was in 89
  11. well actually, pantera is on there number 45
  12. Britney is really hard to listen to. Easy to watch, hard to listen to. my brother likes this band called Newfound Glory, and the lead singer has a very bad voice. It sounds like he is trying to hit high notes while still singing with his chest voice rather than head voice (something I learned in music class in grade school) so it ends up sounding really whiny. William Hung isn't too good at singing either I also don't think Ozzy Osbourne is a great singer, he has some great guitarists though, and his sound is unique. Without his voice Black Sabbath might not have been as succesful. I read in Rolling Stone the basis of their songs was to scare people, and Ozzy has a scary voice Wow, I haven't been here for a while, and my anything overated topic went 4 pages!
  13. recently VH1 made a list of what they thought were the 100 best hared rock bands of all time. heres the list 100 Quiet Riot 99 Bad Brains 98 Mountain 97 Primus 96 Meat Loaf 95 Fugazi 94 Yes 93 Lenny Kravitz 92 The Black Crowes 91 The Misfits 90 Rainbow 89 Lita Ford 88 Tool 87 King Crimson 86 Foreigner 85 Whitesnake 84 UFO 83 King's X 82 Queensryche 81 The Pixies 80 Green Day 79 Ratt 78 Marilyn Manson 77 Hole 76 Bon Jovi 75 Spinal Tap 74 Pat Benatar 73 Twisted Sister 72 Foo Fighters 71 Lynyrd Skynyrd 70 Living Colour 69 Megadeth 68 Hüsker Dü 67 The Rolling Stones 66 Joan Jett 65 The Cult 64 Steppenwolf 63 Boston 62 Ministry 61 Jethro Tull 60 The New York Dolls 59 Bad Company 58 Anthrax 57 Heart 56 White Zombie 55 Blue Öyster Cult 54 Sonic Youth 53 Korn 52 Faith No More 51 Thin Lizzy 50 Slayer 49 The Smashing Pumpkins 48 Janis Joplin 47 Rollins Band 46 Scorpions 45 Pantera 44 ZZ Top 43 Nine Inch Nails 42 The Kinks 41 Ted Nugent 40 Stone Temple Pilots 39 Crazy Horse 38 MC5 37 The Yardbirds 36 Frank Zappa 35 Jane's Addiction 34 Alice in Chains 33 Rage Against the Machine 32 The Doors 31 Def Leppard 30 The Red Hot Chili Peppers 29 Mötley Crüe 28 Rush 27 Iggy Pop 26 Motörhead 25 Cheap Trick 24 Iron Maiden 23 Judas Priest 22 Deep Purple 21 Pearl Jam 20 Alice Cooper 19 The Clash 18 Ozzy Osbourne 17 The Ramones 16 Cream 15 Pink Floyd 14 Soundgarden 13 Queen 12 The Sex Pistols 11 Aerosmith 10 Kiss 9 Guns N' Roses 8 The Who 7 Van Halen 6 Nirvana 5 Metallica 4 AC/DC 3 Jimi Hendrix 2 Black Sabbath 1 Led Zeppelin One thing I didn't like about the list was seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd in the 70s. They are much better than a lot of the bands that were on the list. Also, they seemed to be trying to appeal to a younger crowd rather than make a good list. For instance Sound Garden in the top twenty? The rolling Stones should have been a little higher. Do the Beatles count as hard rock? they weren't on the list at all. Oh well. now complain or compliment
  14. stairway to heaven "and she's buying a stairway...to heaven" or crazy train "Im going off the rails on a crazy train"
  15. Female: Aretha Franklin Male: Freddy Mercury
  16. I thought Clay Aken won last year? seriously, I only watch the auditions. They are the funny ones.
  17. I like it, not my favorite by Queen, but its good. I like the guitar solo, and the part when he starts singing "so you think you can stone me and spit in my eye." That homosexual stuff seems like its what the songs about. I didn't know Freddy Mercury was gay, I thought he was just flamboyant.
  18. I liked Alein Ant farm's cover of Smooth Criminal.
  19. well i just read it and, yeah, i'll just think of it the way you do!
  20. I guess you could count "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen as classical, couldn't you?
  21. what is the meaning of the Queen song, Bohemian Rhapsody? I have not a clue.
  22. this is off topic, but a fun fact about that quote, was it was origonaly "fart and chew gum at the same time." But they made the guy who said it (I forgot who said it) censor it.
  23. either be a guitarist in one of the greatest bands of all time :guitar:, or be in all of Britney and Christinas music videos.
