  1. My chill out song is The Grateful Dead~Box of Rain
  2. I would have added Ethel Merman's Disco album
  3. I am trying to put up an R.E.M. album cover. I clean out my temporary internet files every day, and I don't even have the pic I have now on my computer.
  4. I tried changing my avatar, but it keeps going back to an old avatar that I had a while back. I've never had this happen before? Is there a reason for this?
  5. How could I forget Leo Sayer? And The Pina Colada Song?
  6. In the words of the great Billy Madison: "I am the smartest (wo)man alive!" I have Bananarama's Greatest Hits and missed the Bananarama question last quiz, but I did NOT fall into the Bananarama trap again!
  7. Three votes for Afternoon Delight! And this is the only place I will ever admit that I like one (and only one, I promise!) Celine Dion Song--Because You Loved Me Air Supply-All Out of Love Bonnie Tyler-Total Eclipse of the Heart
  8. I have myrmecophobia, the fear of ants. Was there a fear of going to work after four days off? Because I have that fear right now.
  9. For pure 80's over-the-topness: Lace Phoebe Cates changes her accent every other sentence, and when she says "Which one of you sluts is my mother?" I get all "ooh it's on now girlfriends!"
  10. You order the drink and have a waitress take it to Rupert. Did you think I meant mail him a Pina Colada?
  11. The movie Grace of My Heart is more or less a loose biography of Carole King and her days in the Brill Building as a song writer. In the film the main character, Denise, writes a song for a 60's girl singer (along the lines of Lesley Gore, etc.) The singer is a lesbian, hiding her affair with a woman. I want to know if any one knows if this is based in fact on a real singer, or just an "it could be true, but it's not" plot point.
  12. After my talk show fails, and it will, because, really, how long can you talk about monkeys, I will have a sitcom called The Doors Next Door. The show will be about me, a "square" living next door to The Doors in their early days. Typical punchline set ups would be something like, I go outside to see a stoned Jim, just staring at his front door. Jim would say "The door of perceptiion is solid man" and I would say "Oh Jim, did you lock yourself out again!" Then you would hear the WAH-WAH sound effect and studio laughter.
  13. Just an aside: If you see Rupert Holmes out somewhere, and you think "oh, how clever an original I would be if I sent him a Pina Colada!" DON"T do it--He HATES Pina Coladas.
  14. A talk show, where guests would come on and talk about what I like, which means many discussions on candy, monkeys, socks, The Beatles, and my pretty pretty hair!
  15. Pretty In Pink--Andie should have gone for Duckie.
  16. Probably Copacabana, because I never go anywhere without yellow feathers in my hair.
  17. I'm at work so I can't look at my cds. I'm sure I have more: Bridge Over Toubled Waters Your Body Is A Wonderland Skater Boy--I REALLY hate this song!
  18. At the end of Ob La Di Ob La Da, Paul sings "Desmond stays at home..." but he was supposed to sing Molly again. The Beatles thought it was funny, so they left it in.
  19. Leo's Lyrics is a good site. You can search by artist or song title, or by phrase or scattered words.
  20. Levon Helm played Loretta Lynn's father in Coal Miner's Daughter.
  21. had only one top 10 hit in America--A Summer Song The Violent Femmes
  22. I LOVED Olivia Newton-John when I was in the first grade (1981), and I was into Rick Springfield, Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Huey Lewis all through the 80s. And of course New Kids, Debbie Gibson, and Tiffany.
  23. I first heard "The One I Love" by R.E.M. when I was 9 or 10; I hated it, cause it was "college rock"
