  1. Well, I've done my part (nominating two). We just need four more nominations to vote for ten. Go round up some folks and/or albums
  2. Just shakin' things up a bit
  3. This is driving me crazy. My mom and dad had this album and I remember the inner jacket had a picture of the whooooole ensemble - chorus, band, guest artists. I remember thinking that was Joe Cocker's regular band I've searched all over google images and photobucket to no avail. Was hoping someone could find it somewhere. I was going to post it in SFs Choice, but I really just wanna see it again
  4. Are the Good Times Really Over ~ Merle Haggard I wish a buck was still silver. It was back when the country was strong. Back before Elvis; before the Vietnam war came along. Before The Beatles and "Yesterday", When a man could still work, and still would. Is the best of the free life behind us now? Are the good times really over for good? Are we rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell? With no kind of chance for the Flag or the Liberty bell. Wish a Ford and a Chevy, Could still last ten years, like they should. Is the best of the free life behind us now? Are the good times really over for good? I wish coke was still cola, And a joint was a bad place to be. And it was back before Nixon lied to us all on TV. Before microwave ovens, When a girl could still cook and still would. Stop rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell. Stand up for the Flag and let's all ring the Liberty bell. Let's make a Ford and a Chevy, Still last ten years, like they should. The best of the free life is still yet to come, The good times ain't over for good.
  5. Poor ducky - we'll miss him Can someone help me find the picture from the inside of Mad Dogs and Englishmen? The one with the whole ensemble - 40 piece band and all that?

  7. Tis okay, Kev. I gripe and complain enough "IRL" so I should get all the pleasantness out of my system somewhere, right? Thanks, everyone. You make a non-prolific poster feel loved
  8. Yup, they keep me on my toes. And thank goodness they sleep on occasion, otherwise I'd be back around 2000 or so
  9. Finally, 5000 posts. And it only took me four years
  10. It does odd things for me, too.... Here's a neat tool: http://lastfm.dontdrinkandroot.net/ http://lastfm.dontdrinkandroot.net/cache/friendsgraphs/7de150a1b2218167301b2130220e6bbb.jpg
  11. Closer comes to mind (Nine Inch Nails). Although I'm not sure if I've ever seen an uncut version. All of their videos are artistic (stark, and sometimes graphic). I like Head Like a Hole (but it is interspersed with concert footage...) I really love the Johnny Cash Hurt video. The director does an excellent job of evoking the NIN-style video, but also interweaves elements from Cash's life. Really moving.
  12. He's not even relevant at this point, huh?
  13. For my final nomination, I'm torn between Mad Dogs and Englishmen and Van Morrison's "It's Too Late to Stop Now." Seriously leaning toward Joe Cocker, though
  14. Axl Reality Show? or Geffen has Chinese Democracy Which one is true? Neither?
  15. Touche'...but he wasn't always! This is hot... This is not...
  16. Oh that's just disgusting and icky.
