  1. Even though Peaches already knows how much I love her, after reading your thread and tearing up (yes, you touched upon a few old wounds & experiences that I too recognize from my childhood) all I can say is "". You are truly the greatest Madam Peaches!

    SAW

I totally agree with both of you guys, a Masterpice it was Kenne! I think I recall saying "WTF" quite a few times during the film because I was SO blown away. Good times...
  3. No offense taken, I didn't make the movies. I failed to mention earlier that I have to be in the mood to watch these movies or they have no effect on me. But just for fun....
  4. For me it would have to be: Fried Green Tomatoes & Steel Magnolias (especially when Sally Field breaks down at Shelby's funeral) There are many more but I refuse to come off as a SAP!

Roger, as the media said, 'It's the "Seven" of 2004'. If you liked that movie, then you will like this one!

So, I know that this movie has been out for a while already, but my younger brother and I went to see it last night. All I can say is, "WOW!" what a mind (insert f-word here). Has anyone else seen it?? Thoughts, opinions?
  7. So, anyone else run into the problem of this movie being COMPLETELY out of stock everywhere??? I cannot believe it! Nobody had a copy...nobody! All gone...
  8. No fair!!! I have to work today so i won't get it until after 4:30. :beady:
  9. Yea it is...I'm feeling kind of dizzy now....
  10. Oh my little Peachy!!! You are so sweet to me!! And "" to you too!!! ::
  11. Good thread! I guess I will start by saying that Pagans celebrate this time of year for the Winter Solstice. Same goes for the beginning of Spring as opposed to Easter. I have to agree with...well I forgot who said it but...the person who said that it is more of a time for coming together with family and friends to spend time they may not usually get to spend throughout the year. Commercialization I think has gotten WAY out of control. To give gifts around this time (no matter what you are celebrating) is fine, but everyone maxing out their credit cards and/or going broke just to keep up because everyone expects that is beyond me. In fact, even though I earn a good living, I decided this year to use my time, love, effort and energy to make beautiful gifts for the people who are important to me. Gifts that are personalized no matter how big or small tend to mean a lot to people. They will receive purchased gifts that accentuate the made ones, but I have seen throughout the years how ugly people get when shopping and stressed they get about buying something for every person. What I am saying is, this should not be a time for dissonance, quaralling over parking spaces or the last Tickle Me Elmo. It should be a time to embrace the gift of life that we have all been given and offer our gratitude and love to the people that have walked with us on our journey.
  12. Sounds good! Look at this stuff...isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collection's complete? Wouldn't you think I'm the girl...the girl who has, everything... Now I have the song in my head!!
  13. As far as my favorite old Disney movies: Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood, Snow White, Peter Pan. Newer movies: The Lion King & Mulan
  14. LOL!!! My younger sister and I used to do the same thing!!! I don't feel SO much like a dork now!! ::
  15. Sorry I couldn't help...I will wrack my brain just for you though! ::
  16. SUGAR RAY That's their name! Oh thank God! I am not losing my memory at 25!!!
  17. It sounds like a song by the band Mark McGrath is in...I knew it when I began my response to this thread and now it has escaped me. None the less, here is the song in parts because I do not know all of the words: When it's over That's the time I fall in love again.... {Chorus} And when you gooooooooo I know, it never ends...never ends All the things that she used to say All the words that got in the way All her favorite TV shows have gone out the window... When it's over, that's the time I fall in love again.... Anyway, I don't know, this could be the song....Why can't I think of the bands name?? It is right on the tip of my tongue!
  18. I have recently started doing the "Net Flix" thing. It's way cool, you just register, pay a small monthly fee and make a list of movies that you would like to have sent to you. You get to keep the movies as long as you would like and when you're done you just send them back (postage & envelope are provided)and then they send you the next 3 movies on your list. Recent movies I have received are:Cold Mountain , I could NOT get into this movie no matter how hard I tried... Suicide Kings I had already seen it but I like this movie alot my husband, however, didn't find it as amusing...oh well! One of the main reasons for making the decision was Hollywood Video (which is where we usually rent from) is trying to be like Blockbuster where you pay a monthly fee and keep the movies for however long you want...the problem is they did not have enough movies in stock so they were out of ALL of the new releases and had NO idea when they would be returned.
  19. Good thread Ken! :: For me it would have to be...geez..you know I can't think of one! Generally the opposite happens to me. There will be a movie that I thought I hated and end up seeing it again for whatever reason and decide, "Hey, this movie is pretty good."

    War Films

Wow, nobody mentioned "Gone with the Wind". One of my favorite war movies.
  21. Yeah, I own it. :: That was the first movie Fairuza Balk was in I think. I like her. I thought it was a really good story. The special effects are funny, they are the equivilant to the special effects in "The Never Ending Story". If anyone has seen either of these movies they will know exactly what I mean...for those of you haven't the effects are SUPER budget!
  22. Hi Chimpevil, I am Opiate. Glad to have you here...you understand that you can check out anytime you like...but you can NEVER leave...right???
  23. I am going to have to agree with JR...I really did not find it that amusing, not to mention super predictable. I did like how well they made the characters look like the actor doing the voice though...that was good. I think I would give it a thumbs down. If you are that curious though at least wait until it comes out on DVD because it is NOT worth $8.50 + munchies at the theater. And that's all I have to say about that.
