  1. At the moment You Really Got A Hold On Me sounds real good.
  2. we are not going there again! ::
  3. Teresa, I'm like you. although there are lots of newer movies(i think dazed and confused was about my life), I find myself drawn to the movies I watched as a kid. I adored Hayley Mills, miracle on 34 street, Gone With The Wind, and my all time family favorite, Goonies! ::
  4. you're right of course, sweetheart. we'll save that for private!
  5. do I detect sarcasm? pretty good for a first venture into this type thing!!
  6. ok a song from my "childhood", but it still works. Lay Lady Lay, Bob Dylan. Unc, I'm right there with you figurativly of course! And how did you manage to become a walrus?
  7. For those that say Mick's talent and joy for music is gone(chris, dannyboy, where are you?)Did anyone else see Sir Mick picking up his award for the song he co-wrote and sang for the movie Closer? He's still got it kids!
  8. Classic Rock is simply my life. from birth(1956)until I turned 25(1981). every song from that time period I consider classic rock. These were the songs that define me.
  9. now Jimi's hot. mind, body, and soul..drugs or not. Absolutely beautiful.
  10. definately not hot, definately stoned man...that's how he did it, brains and drugs!!!
  11. If you're good, you'll live forever, but if you're bad you'll die when you die. I've always thought that this intro was extremely powerful. I've been in love with this song since it was released. I've been moved to tears more than once over this. Thanks for bringing it to mind.
  12. when the announcemt was made on tv, I remember just plopping down in the cahir, eyes glued to the tv. I remember tears running down my face. disbelief. That stuff doesn't happen. Actually, I rate it pretty close to when JFK was assainated, and I was 6 then, and still remember that. I was an adult when Lennon's Murder happened but I can remember feeling the same way. It's still hard hitting when I think of it today, just like JFK.
  13. ok for those of you that don't know, I'm a 48 year old granny. However, I kind of like Insane Clown Posse. I have always been possesed with a certain raunchy sense of humor, if you get me at the right moment.. I know they are supposed to be degrading to women, but I feel like if you are secure in yourself, they are really just another kind of dirty joke. I like a good dirty joke. and they are funny, if you keep them in that context. I honestly think of them as more of a novelty than a serious musical or rap group. Anyway, while at times they get to be a little much, and they are definately x rated, I have to say, in general I like them. Now I would never purchase a cd...but if I hear one, I always listen. I guess I'm a baaad granny!
  14. Another interesting note: Shel Silverstein not only wrote that song but many many others, from country, to some of my favorites recorded by Captain Beefheart and his Majic Band and Zappa. He also writes children's poetry some you may remember reading or if you have children now, they would enjoy. silly stuff, my favorite book being Where The Sidewalk Ends, which includes my kids and now grandsons favorite peom "Sara Cynthia Sylvia Stout..would not take the garbage out" these books aren't bad for adults, they are very funny! I have to read from this one to my grandson whenever he is here!
  15. You know it atually might not be that hard.
  16. I can't quote everybody, but d*amn you all have good taste!
  17. To The Rescue!!! More Qualified here.. Ok, first lets get this straight, I was 12 in 1968, the "height" of the hippie era. So I can't tell you a lot of first hand experiences. I did though, do a lot of living in that time after that. I was never a true "peace-loving hippie". What is it you want to know? there are a few of us "qualified"! ::
