I went to elementary school with this guy and do the recording for him. Check it out!

Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover
Living Colour - Cult of Personality
Jaco Pastorius - Teen Town (a friggin hard bass song by the best bassist ever)
Jimi Hendrix - Machine Gun (I can't even find the complete tabs)
Van Halen - Hot for Teacher (depends on your tapping skills, I've been playing for 3 years and I've got this one down pretty good)
Frank Zappa - Willie the Pimp
SRV's version of Little Wing is also pretty tough.

You should be able to host it on a site like this.

It's not a bad thing you didn't know it.

My personal favorite is Will Calhoun .
He's really good at funky, syncopated beats.
Here is a pretty good solo he did live. The beginning is kinda annoying though, with the drum machine. It's one of their more "experimental" songs.
Still, the best drum solo I've ever heard was by some unknown jazz musician. It was at a small club, I was about 10 feet from the stage. I rarely get excited about drums, but this gave me chills.
-
Also, in the Hendrix song "Rainy Day Dream Away" he coughs and sniffles a little at the beginning.
That's definitely him taking a really big hit. Then the way he talks right afterwards "Yeah I see what you mean brother."

I am also against it. Unless you're living under a rock, you're gonna hear worse things in the real world.
Frank Zappa was a genius. He explains his beliefs here, on this cool movie. Be patient, its about 10 or 20 minutes.
In the movie, that fag with the glasses pisses me off. He tries to compare lyrics with Hitler's propaganda.

Man it has been forever since I've posted here.
Alter Bridge - Find The Real
Make sure you you tune down half a step and use drop D tuning, C# in this case. This song is fun to play just because it's so melodic and heavy at the same time.
Rage Against the Machine -
Killing In The Name A really cool riff.
Depending on your hit on / pull off skills, you might be able to play Lynyrd Skynyrd - I know a little

Soundgarden - Fell on Black Days
You might be able to play the beginning of The Satch's - Satch Boogie
Good luck with your guitar playing.

Candlebox- In my eyes, they are the short lived band, they released one hell of an album, and then pretty much dissapeared.
They only had one album released? 'Rain' is my favorite by them.
Damage Plan is literally a short 'lived' band. Dimebag was great. :guitar:

Best Bassists:
Jaco Pastorius
Marcus Miller
Victor Wooten
Les Claypool
Stanley Clarke

I thought this was the "best guitar players" thread? Not the "we can make hip sounds on a computer band thread" . . .
Maybe I'm mistaken . . .
The Hybrid Theory was a good release, for what it is. But it absolutely does not qualify the guitarist as one of the best in his craft. Listen to something else,Are you on acid or are you just a nut david gilmour could school any new guitarist today even though he is getting on in lifeAlright for the Record Linkin Park Sucks. When you have to go to drop d because power chords are to tough for you then you shouldn't be a guitarist. David Gilmour is a brilliant mind. In my opinion he is not one of the best guitarist skill wise but unstoppable for his innovations.Noobs don't know what sarcasm is.
Anyways, I don't believe Tommy Iommi has been mentioned yet.

I saw Ken Ford, the Jazz violinist, last saturday for about the 4th time. It was an amazing show, with some of the most talented musicians I've heard. Im not really even a big Jazz fan, but take most any famous rock band, and skill wise, these guys are way better. I was captivated from the first note.

Jimi Hendrix - Machine Gun and Little Wing
Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand and Kashmir
Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Living Colour - Lost Halo and Postman
Lynyrd Skynyrd - I Know A Little and I Never Dreamed
Allman Brothers - In Memory of Elizabeth Reed and Whipping Post
Pantera - Cemetary Gates and Floods
Guns N' Roses - Estranged and Civil War
That's all for now.

Living Colour
I know I mention them all the time, but they really are pretty good.
