  1. After 38 years in the vault, Brian Wilson is releasing his opus Smile, one of the most mythologized albums in pop music history. Smile Released I'm curious to see if Smile is everything it's purported to be, given that is was the most direct competion to Sgt. Pepper as far as innovation in that time.
  2. I love the part in the preview when the two guys are trying to decide what record to throw at the zombies: "Purple Rain? No. The Batman Soundtrack? OK!"
  3. Scott isn't the only R.E.M. knower amongst us. When Reveal came out, so did Michael, for the most part. He said he identifies himself as a "queer artist," but, given Michael's bent toward lyrical gymnastics, "queer artist" could mean anything.
  4. Stewie is trying to call home-"867-5309. Lois? Damn you Tommy Tutone!" Chris-"Guess the word I'm thinking of!" Meg-"Is it kitty?" Chris-"AHHH! Get out of my head!" Peter to Lois after seeing KISS-"Nobody wants to be Peter Kriss!" Peter-"My wife did KISS!"

  8. I posted this comment in another post about this very song, but that scene is a tribute to the duets of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris.

  10. Oh man! I wish there was a laughing till you cry smiley!
  11. that g-d chick flick Beaches! I've seen it a zillion times. I've read the book a zillion times. And I still bawl. When Harry Met Sally-when Harry Says "When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to begin as soon as possible." Forrest Gump Almost Famous Pretty in Pink I'm a big ole' cry baby.
  12. Correct Annabelle! You win the lifetime supply of turtle wax!
  13. If everyone's favorite songfacts insect plays, he'll probably get my clue.
  14. I introduced myself when I started posting but I will re-intro. My name is Shannon. I will be 30 in March. I am from Indiana, but I live in a tourist trap called Cody, Wyoming. I love Elvis Costello, Ryan Adams, The Beatles, Sarah McLachlan, and a lot of other music. I enjoy making witty comments, mostly for my own amusement. I enjoy candy, and I think taking a nap and then sitting down to cookies and milk can solve all problems. My only goal in life is to see a taping of Late NightWith David Letterman.
  15. Your song is Money by Pink Floyd. **** ****** and **** ********* wrote parts of this song separatley and combined it to make one song. . The part with "the b- people" is ****, the rest is ****. At one point the song was called "One of the B- People"
  16. Memo to Avril-Joan Jett did snotty and sneery way before you, and WAY better than you.
  17. Morris Day and the Mother F-in' Time (or so say Jay and Silent Bob)
  18. Has anyone listened to Keane's CD? I think I might like them because they are Travis-esque. They don't have guitars, which is pretty unique and original.
  19. AMEN Uncle! I stopped watching it a quarter of the way through. I've loved Ben Stiller since his little known TV show, but I just couldn't take this movie.
  20. Earlier tonight I was jonesing for Steely Dan, but my obsession for the last several months has been Ryan Adams. Now that my Gram Parsons CD is here, I'll probably become obsessed with that.
  21. Bands Reunited begins again tonight on VH-1. The bands possibly reuniting are: Haircut 100 (tonight) New Kids On The Block ABC The English Beat I admit I am such a nostalgia geek that I am really looking forward to seeing NKOTB, but, I think it's a shameless ploy, given that Jordan Knight is one of the "stars" participating in the surreal life 3.
  22. The Who-Sally Simpson. I listen to it 3 or 4 times in a row every time I put it on.
