  1. Are you a fan of bird calls? No? Techmoan has something that will pique your disinterest. In an nondescript box, he found a set of 1970 recordings for bird brains. Is Techmona doing it right? Press PLAY to find out about 1970 Audible Audubon recordings that will tantalize your cat!
  2. Those "Chatty Kathy" dolls had a tiny record and playback mechanism inside, back in the first half of the 20th century. "Techmoan" has accepted his current Mission: Impossible, to get these tiny records to play on a 1970's Action Man Field Radio player. Press PLAY to find out what secret messages are to be found on "Chatty Kathy"! As usual, if "Techmoan" is caught or killed during his mission, The Secretary will disavow any knowledge of such activity...
  3. It's Saturday morning, time for another "Techmoan" Tech video. Did you ever hear about "MQA-CD"? Me neither, by that time, in the early 2000s, music CD sales were about to take a death dive. "Media streaming services" offered EVERYTHING recorded "at any time/all the time" without the "clutter of physical media." Back in 2018, "Techmoan" looked at MQA-CD and found that the decoders and players were only available at "Audiophile Prices" (Thousands of Pounds Sterling, of course.;) Recordings of this latest "better than regular CD" format were available only in Japan. Flash forward to today, hardware and music CD prices have flattened out, but the format appears to have "only historical interest." Press PLAY to find out about the "tempest in a teacup" Internet battle for tech information and sound comparisons...if you dare...

  5. Disney's "Steamboat Willie" has spawned a number of interesting "variations on a theme." However, this pales in comparison to the days when IP copyrights were frequently ignored, resulting in unique local takes on pirated characters. Press PLAY to find out about "Turkish Star Wars," "Filipino Batman," and other Asian takes on Hollywood and Tokyo...
  6. Submitted for your amusement, outtakes, deleted scenes, goofy video, and a "Firefly" cast reunion. Remember: Every time a viewer (YouTube or video) falls in love with "Firefly," a Fox TV executive falls off the Nakatomi Plaza building. Press PLAY to get ready for a fun weekend...;)
  7. Submitted for a chuckle or two, in several languages. Part way through Wendy Corduroy's Teen gang's exploration of the abandoned "Dusk 2 Dawn" store, Mabel comes across "Do Not Sell" candy, gobbles it and "gets spacey." Press PLAY if Winter 2024 is getting you down...

  11. Matt found this modern background music player set in 2022, but put it aside, since it might require a subscription to operate. It's now 2024, and "Techmoan" decides to power up the little box. Does the music play in random order over time? Press PLAY to find out what Imagesound put on the 16GB SD card.
  12. Would you turn "Rover" and his pack of Canids into super soldiers to fight Human wars? Let us count the ways that could happen, outside of David Brin's "Uplift series." Press PLAY if you're curious about how animals on Earth could be "messed with" to suit our needs...
  13. The Critical Drinker opened this video with "the absolute clown show that is modern Hollywood," then put the spotlight on a modern hero, Nicholas Winton, played in old age by Anthony Hopkins. If you can't find the movie, I've read that there's a "This Life" video about Nicholas Winton in a TV studio, surrounded by the former children he saved from the Nazis in 1938 Czechoslovakia. 1988 "This Life" segment on Nicholas Winton
  14. Winds are blowing from the South, clouds, heavy rain and humid conditions will rule for several days. With this depressing local weather report, here's something to "keep your sunny side up." Press PLAY if local weather conditions have got you "down in the dumps..."
