  2. The Army jingle was one of the top ten of all time according to Advertising Age. The information they provide is N.W. Ayer & Son, 1981. Hope this helps!
  3. I think people are drawn to this site and messageboards because of a shared love of music. When they get here, they realize there are a whole community of people they have something in common with, so they just chat. I know I came to this site looking for something in particular, but after reading the posts of some of these intelligent, thoughtful and hilarious people, I stayed around to get to know people more. I love that we are all so different and get along so well. Everybody sing... We are the world We are the children
  4. I know, I can't hear the song without thinking of Cartman! Respect my authorit-ah!
  5. I am so-so on the movie, but I think Margaret Mitchell was a great woman. She was very progressive for her time. I have been to her house in Atlanta (it has been made into a museum), and was impressed with her story. Here is her official website... Margaret Mitchell
  6. I know as soon as I post this, I will think of a hundred more, but here goes... Male - Robert Plant Female - Aretha Franklin
  7. My Name is Norman Bates by Landscape My name is Norman Bates; I?m just a normal guy. My name is Norman Bates-s-s-s-s. My name is Norman Bates; I?m just a normal guy. My name is Norman Bates-s-s-s-s. Mother! Oh my God! [spoken over refrain.] Did Norman murder the girl in the Bates Motel? Yes, or No? To understand the case, you have to go back to the time ten years ago, When the young Norman murdered his mother and her lover. Matricide: perhaps, the most unbearable crime of all. Norman refused to come to terms with the horror of his deed. His mother was still alive. He stole her corpse and preserved it with chemicals. He kept her alive by wearing her clothes; speaking in her voice; thinking her thoughts. He became both mother and son. Norman Bates; normal, healthy young man with regular interests and habits. And Mrs. Bates; a clinging, posessive woman, and a homicidal maniac. When Norman encountered the girl at the motel, his sexual instincts were aroused. He wanted her ? desired her. This was too much for the other side of Norman?s personality. In a jealous frenzy, Mother murdered the girl. When two personalities share the same mind, there is always conflict. Now, that conflict is over: Mother has taken over Norman?s mind. Perhaps for all time. Norman Bates no longer exists.

  9. What does "mudshovel" mean? I have read the lyrics, and I understand that someone has royally pissed him off, but apparently I am missing something. Help?
  10. Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side... Musical Youth I know that dutchie is not really supposed to be a euphamism for pot, but it sounds like it, doesn't it?
  11. I wish I was in Tijuana Eating barbecued iguana... Mexican Radio Wall of Voodoo :guitar:
  12. I saw the video for "Slither" by VR and it kicks ass! The members are... Scott Weiland - Vocals (Stone Temple Pilots) Slash - Guitars (Guns & Roses) Duff McKagan - Bass, Vocals (G&R) Matt Sorum - Drums, Vocals (G&R) Dave Kushner - Guitars, Vocals (Wasted Youth) Check out the website... Velvet Revolver
  13. I just read the book "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" Obviously, the authors made the argument that he was murdered, but no one will ever know all the sides of the story, so how can anyone be so certain? The most compelling fact is the amount of heroin in his system. It does seem impossible for him to have ingested that much and then go through the steps of suicide. We will never know for sure, but either way, I hope he has the peace in death that he didn't in life.
  14. I don't think I will see them this time, but I did see them in Atlanta in 2000 with Kid Rock and Korn. Hetfield wasn't there because of a "back injury", but all the acts came out and jammed with the rest of Metallica.
  15. This is Lake Blackshear... This is a picture of our Watermelon Festival (I live in the Watermelon Capital of the World)...
  16. I checked out the website Probot and it looks pretty cool. "The songs on the Probot album were written entirely by Grohl. He then sent out these recordings to all of his favorite metal vocalists from a specific period of time in underground metal (83 to '90). Probot is an eclectic metal compilation. Each track is its own unique entity, always potent, always compelling...and completely metal!" Kick ass! Grohl rocks!
  17. Am I missing something here? I swear I went to see KISS in concert in 99 during their farewell tour. Doesn't farewell mean see ya, bye bye, adios, bon soir, not gonna do this anymore?
  18. Jayson, Rock on, man! Woo hoo! (I hope that sounds rock-ish and not TRL-ish!)
  19. Jayson, I don't live anywhere near Atlanta, but when I am in town, I listen to 99x. Why is it your former favorite station?
  20. How did you come up with your screen name? Some are pretty obvious, but some are a little hard to decipher. I'll start. I love Tenacious D (the greatest band on earth!) and I live in Georgia. Hence, Tenacious Peaches. Anyone else? And if your sn is your name, please don't be obnoxious and write "My mother gave it to me" or something equally sarcastic. I'm just trying to get to know everyone!
  21. Pretty much the same as everyone else's... Rocky Horror Picture Show Blues Brothers Spinal Tap School of Rock High Fidelity And since someone posted about not discussing a lot of rap on this site, I would like to throw in Krush Groove...Run DMC, LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow, the Fat Boys. Fresh, yo! But Moulin Rouge? I believe it was Bart Simpson who asked the immortal question: "Is it possible for something to suck and blow at the same time?"
  22. Thanks, Muzik! I dare my boss to try and get some work out of me today...I have some serious net surfing to do now!
  23. I noticed on another thread that MuzikTyme mentioned the whole Dark Side of the Moon coinciding with The Wizard of Oz. A lot of people that I have talked to about this say you have to be ahem..."enhanced" to get it, but I watched it sober, and I really saw some connections. Any thoughts? I am really fascinated by this...and yes, I am a dork! ::
