  1. You young'uns might not know what I am talking about, but I go insane everytime I hear Ella Fitzgerald's "It Don't Mean a Thing (if it ain't got that swing)". I mean that in a good way. Oh, damn it...here I go...scat, Ella, scat! Doo wop, doo wop, doo wop, doo wop!
  2. Ken, you are absolutely hilarious...one of my favorite posters. I usually laugh out loud when I read one of your posts! Thanks! Dave was on a "Sopranos" episode and I didn't even recognize him, he looked so scary. Every time I think of Van Halen, I remember the movie "Better Off Dead" with John Cusack. There is a fantasy sequence where Cusack is working in a burger joint, and the burgers come to life and dance to "Everybody Wants Some" by VH. God bless the 80s! I have never seen this icon before and wanted to use it!
  3. Woo hoo...School of Rock rocks! For obvious (hopefully) reasons! :guitar:
  4. The lyrics in question to CCR's Proud Mary are as follows... Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis Pumped a lot of pain down in New Orleans Ike and Tina's version is listed as... Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis Pumped a lot of tane down in New Orleans Experts, which is it...pain or tane? And if it's tane, may I assume that means octane like gas, and not what my vulgar mind thinks it is? ::
  5. I forgot about "Singles"! Love the movie and LOVE the soundtrack. Paul Westerberg is the man. One of the most hilarious parts of the movie is where Cliff is singing to Janet's answering machine... "Walking down the ave-new-ew-ew..." Who new Matt Dillon could be so damned funny?
  6. 1. Grosse Pointe Blank (Bowie, Violent Femmes, & G&R...kick ass!) 2. The Blues Brothers (Belushi!) 3. Grease (it is the word, you know) (Bonus soundtrack) Dirty Dancing (she's like the wind...through my trees. Does it get better than that?) The best TV soundtrack is for "New York Undercover". The album (or CD, I am showing my age) is called "A Night at Natalie's". Good R&B covers of old songs and some original tunes. Thumbs up!
  7. Tarantino always says he doesn't know what's in the briefcase, but that he leaves it up to the viewer to figure it out. Marsellus' soul is the most logical option, but I have read that it contains the diamonds from "Resevoir Dogs", which is very cool!
