  1. Would it be wrong to expand this topic allowing songs that doesn't have the titles spelled out as titles, but somewhere in the song there is a spelling of the title? Examples: YMCA - Village People Word Up - Cameo
  2. Ah.. So this: [You'll never know what you've done For this poor mother's son A thirsty man just got a Cold cup of water.] Is actually the original lyrics while all the rest were changed to reflect her point of view? How come this one is not changed.. Actually you are quite rite. In it's simplicity the meaning is exactly this. Simple : "poor man begging in the streets for money". However, sang by a woman and with the changed lyrics, I had another idea about the deeper meaning of the text. And it makes a lot of sense for a guy like me not familiar with the writer or the singer. I can swear for me the hidden meaning was stronger then what the text was really saying. I wonder if the writer did this intentionally or not?
  3. Hm.. this sounds like a cut of one of the bananarama's megamixes. Let me see if i can find which one exactly.. Ok, i don't have the time to seek it out but here is a list of artists that 100% did the song you need. All you need is time to find it. Check out the megamixes too. Boney M Saragossa Band (sounds alot like their style) Dschinghis Khan Baccara Bananarama Hope you find it. Good luck!
  4. Oh.. that's a tough one. Let me try. I'll summarize at the end. [it's a long distance phone And I feel so alone Here without him.] So.. we have "her" and "him". She want's to call him on the phone.. or does she? [its a crime and a shame That I ain't got the change And don't you know that I`m worried about him.] So she doesn't have the means. [i've been all over street Every street, up and down Looking for the man.] -- Actually the original lyrics here are: [i've been all over town, every street, up and down] Here get's tricky.. She's a "wanderer" looking for "the man" [it's just a face in the crowd Where the traffic roars loud But don't you know he'd be Proud to give a helping hand.] So he can be anyone who is willing to "help her" Chorus: [Mister, can you Fnd it in your heart To lend me a dollar For the times have been slow I'm fresh outta dough And I ain't got the Money to call him.] So, she needs a reason "the call" to ask for the money. [i threw my pride out the door 'Cause I've been turned down before But I'll keep trying.] So she's not proud of what's she's doing but she's doing her best to ?? survive. [This kind of pain is Kind of hard to explain But the feeling's the same As like dying.] This is the key phrase. What kind of pain does she really experience. "Fresh out of dough?" Chorus: [Mister, can you Fnd it in your heart To lend me a dollar For the times have been slow I'm fresh outta dough And I ain't got the Money to call him.] [You put the change in my hand You're the world's kindest man And I thank you, Sir. Here comes "the man". [You'll never know what you've done For this poor mother's son A thirsty man just got a Cold cup of water.] "thirsty man got cold cup of water" sounds more like "you've got what you need".. in this case the money. Chorus: [Mister, can you Fnd it in your heart To lend me a dollar For the times have been slow I'm fresh outta dough And I ain't got the Money to call him.] Chorus: [Mister, can you Fnd it in your heart To lend me a dollar For the times have been slow I'm fresh outta dough And I ain't got the Money to call him... ] I see only 2 choices for what this song is about.. How about you?

  7. It's because of the really loud sound systems tend to generate too much low-frequency noise that gets reverberated on the drums. As someone else mentioned before the glass is actually a sound barrier that prevents the drums to additionally vibrate or echo from the sound system. This providing more clear sound. And yes, the drummer never uses speakers in these cages but earplugs exactly for the same reason. Few people do this tho since it's expensive The ones that doesn't just don't care that much or they are covered by good sound engineers.

  15. "There were days when you've been angry pushing everyone away and when i call to hear your voice you wouldn't even pick up the phone. There will be a day that's commin' when i'll call you once again to say i'm missing you and that i love you for a very last time. Would you search for me among the souls if you knew that i am lost would you shout my name until you lose your voice Would you look them in their face seeking for my eyes to find would you give up everything you have just to have me for one last time. And finally you sit alone pushing everyone away looking at the table and the phone and waiting .. for my call."
  16. Lol, that's a wonderful example for songplaces. I was amazed to read the legend about this. Great job Laurie!
  17. Sound cuts.. hm.. this would be fine if it was done on AIR by a radio station. Since there wouldn't be much problems to play the cut. If we're talking about website we have to know that there is a lot of work before the quiz setup goes live, especially with the sound edit/cuts and the system that will give the user access to them. But it's possible. ++ Users can listen not only for the tune as whole, but for example part of the lyrics, what type of music instrument is used etc.. The pictures can be looked upon as additions to the questions, as we can never be sure what exactly to look for if there isn't a question. Themed quizzes are easy to be done with the current quiz system, although i speak only from technical position. I have a vague idea how much time it takes for the preparation of all this information before it is put online. Question of the day .. Well this idea is fighting the idea of the quiz. It can be done as separate system tho.
  18. Hi Shawna, On your browser top menu: Tools->Options->Content tab select the box saying: Enable JavaScript. This should do the job for you. If you still experience problems like the ones you had it's something else not the JavaScript.

  22. "She Never Cried In Front of Me"~Toby Keith Sounds to me more like a "tear rolled down her face" because she knew that the man standing next to her is not the one she wants, but she didn't had a chance since Toby "was putting her through hell". And the irony is that he also wanted her but he never knew that she was feeling bad because "She Never Cried in front of" him. How does that sounds?
