  1. ....i wish i knew the reason. Why?.... "If by steamroller accident from a truck I am struck..." ...hmmmmm... or.... "If by steamroller accident today I am struck" .....i still wish i knew the new reason. Why? ??????????????????
  2. has anyone mentioned this one yet.... imho...there's not many cooler than...TC
  3. Colder than the shoulder of an ice picking lumberjack. I'd say. But the wind has hints of maybe warmer things to come. I know, I know...the tiny, pin-prick of lite I see far-away in the tunnel.....is only the lamp of an on-coming train!
  4. Stone Written Poem An ugly man with confidence is quite the sight to see I’m finally seeing who makes the rules And that man is really me. When you see the people passing by, hunger in their eyes Be sure to hold your groceries close But don't just pass them by. And when we finally all decide to call our hurts our own The god’s may fight and fly into a rage For the truth will then be known. At long last now I figured it out, I’ve finally found the tonic If today by accident I’m hit by a truck Now, that would be ironic. *jdh*
  5. (fr. the stone show 2/5/09 1035 fm sodus,ny) Stone presents a special edition of everybody’s favorite grumpy host’s (that's me) collection of the most cute and cantankerous, snarky, swarmy and adorable old timers around…It’s “Seniors Say The Darndest Things†on the Big Dog….. You know getting a little older is not easy or fun, and there’s not a lot of positives to recommend the aging process really, but one good thing that seems to happen when we reach a certain age is a certain loosening of the screws at the back of the tongue. I mean seniors will tell you the plain un-adulterated truth, no matter how uncomfortable or painfull (both for them and for us) it may be..Today on “Seniors Say the Darndest Things†we hear from music living legend Etta James and she’s tired of singing sweetly and not holding back… **compiled from reports on msn entertainment and msn.com** If you were wondering why Beyoncé and not Etta James was asked to serenade the president and first lady with "At Last" during their first dance at an inauguration ball on Jan. 20, you're not alone. Etta, who at 71 still looks and sounds real, real good, and whoom Beyoncé went blonde to portray in the movie "Cadillac Records," is wondering the same thing, and she candidly expressed her displeasure during a concert stop in Seattle last week. Here’s the audio/video courtesy utube: Funny because in a post-inauguration chat with the New York Daily News, Etta's son, Donto James, had insisted his Mother was delighted by Beyoncé's performance. Maybe he’s still miffed at being named “Donto†Anyway, and that’s why, if she’s a senior, you should always check with Mom before telling anyone how she feels…because as we all know ‘Seniors Say the Darndest Things†By the way, Beyoncé's rep has yet to comment on the kerfuffle. Oooh and that’s another new word today (meaning it’s a new word to me not really a “new†word ) The word KERFUFFLE is originally from the Scots, meaning disturbance, commotion, or fuss. Tune in next time for more adorable rants from old timers when we feature Joe Biden on “Seniors Say the Darndest Thingsâ€

  7. Hey Folks. I'm back (not that you missed me) Due to hard drive crashing sort of computer agrivation, I've missed out on another TT (and a pretty good one from the looks of it) What? No one ever thought of nominating 'Strawberry Fields' b4 Didn't see that Sam Cooke coming this week either (oww my head is still sore from all the beating) JK really Great list! Love the We Five tune, one of the all-time great one-hit wonders out there. Anyway, great job as usual! I know you could easily carry on without me, but if you don't mind....I'm Back! btw...if anyone's on facebook, i've started keeping a running log of my show (kind of like radio for the hearing impaired) look for STONE HILL there. Be my friend and hit the wall
  8. I haven't posted anything here for a while, and I know I promised more and I still hope to get to that but sometimes life just slows you down. Anyway, with great reservation, I submit this one small snipit of verse for your thoughts: It's always the ones that you wouldn't expect You've made it this far but now what to do next If I hate you I must love you The mistake proves the test And it's written right here in the text. I was alone in the cold of a winter's rain You warm at home with a friend in my stead Rude wandering strangers show more care for my pain All I could hear were the words that you said. Come to me Die slowly You knew me To greatly Excuse me Love hates three. @2009 jdh
  9. That many songs? Really! Wow, that's a lot of TT's It says a lot about the mammoth diversity and uniformity of musical taste, that week after week, there are still more 'someone's favorite songs' to come up with  BTW (and not to be a trouble-maker) has anyone ever thought about doing a Top 10 or Fifty or a-Hundred from all the collective TT's
  10. Ahhhhah! TP was going to be my 2nd choice!
  11. Well since nobody else has guessed, and maybe I'm a freak and I love to take tests, sO'll take one wild, last crack at a 20. Which of these artists is the only guest musician to ever get a line of dialogue in Buffy the Vampire Slayer? (just because nobody names their kids 'Boz' anymore!) wrong or right ... lee, thanx for the tunz!
  12. You know what the problem is.... nothing just seems to look that great these days. It's like a general malaise, if that's the right word. Or, maybe it's just me. Anyway, kind of I liked it! I nom'ed a song that finsihed dead last! There's something special about a total loser.

  15. OK, I'm thinking it may be ? #16. I know their 2nd album was named after an American actor who's family didn't like the idea much, so in the states it was released as "Two Wheels Good". But I don't know the Orwellian connection.
  16. FYC...... Anything Goes ~ Randy Houser (ok, the video is crreepily gratutious and corny, but I like the song and |'m not thinkin' straight) Valley Road ~ Bruce Hornsby (not my all-time favorite Hornsby tune, but a good one, and because I don't think he's ever made the TT's and not much to choose from on utube and as for the vid.... I'm sorry, but I like Michigan. ............. ..............
  17. OK imay need to look through the ?'s again, but didn't R. Lloyd (later, R. Hell) play a lot of guitar while Tom V. sang most lead vocals on Television's first couple of records? and now I need to read the ?'s again, maybe I din't know Paddy and company as well as I thought
  18. ..heh... you're scareing me there a little Lee, hmmm, well looking back at your ?'s ... I think I may know this one, (but there could be multiple answers to it too, maybe) 16. Which one of these features the singer from another of these on guitar? ...as to which could be my special ? hmmmmm, I hope it has nothing to do with the musical saw (but somehow I'm afraid that it might )

  22. You can sue people all you want. But if they can't pay, they can't pay. How many of those thousands of judgements have gone un-collected? Meanwhile the masterminds of commerce waste their energy and money on lobbying and legal costs, until they finally realize their golden goose is bleeding dry and they've been putting bandaids on a turkey. There is no control. Roll with it. ========\O/____\o/____ ___\o/_____\O/========
