  1. A roundabout is also a gloriette, or a traffic circle. Why some places in America have them is beyond me; it's basically a way of saying "this intersection is FUBAR."
  2. Closer to the Heart is one of the few songs that has songwriting credit to somebody not in the band (Pye Dubois). The intro to Xanadu is some of the best music ever written. It has an extreme majestic feel to it that you typically only get in classical music like "Air on a G String" by JS Bach. I quote the first stanza to A Farewell to Kings all the time; it's one of the best political songs ever; it has a timelessness that few other songs do. When they turn the pages of history When these days have passed long ago Will they read of us with sadness For the seeds that we let grow?
  3. Lindsey Buckingham--his voice ain't great, but he works it well Eddie Money--his voice is just blah Jon Anderson of Yes... it took some time for him to realize what "on key" means
  4. Re-recordings by the original artist are just that... the song was redone in the studio by the original artists. I have a CD by Roy Orbison that is such. It sucks. The Kevin Garnett commercial uses the original recording.
  5. I cannot get the link to work, but from the descriptions, I'd ask if it's Lady Love by Lou Rawls?
  6. Journey: Feelin' That Way Natural Thing Who's Crying Now Open Arms Styx: Lady Clair de Lune/Ballerina Joe Jackson: Stepping Out Rush: Tai Shan Available Light Second Nature Aerosmith: Dream On Motley Crue: Home Sweet Home Heart: Alone
  7. Man, I feel like a woman by Shania Twain Can't Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis Imma go listen to some AC/DC now.
  8. Queen's Sail Away Sweet Sister comes to mind. I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick by the way, if you get Alanis Morisette's Uninvited as response, it's time to move on.
  9. The band introduced is Country Joe and the Fish .
  10. I'd give it "best guitar solo by an outside performer" except that Clapton on While My Guitar Gently Weeps reigns supreme.
  11. This Song Has No Title by Elton John Nasty by Miss Jackson (who's jamming to my nasty groove?)
  12. Why the bow? A southern man don't need him around anyhow. Anyway, Time Stand Still by Rush I think I'm Going Bald by Rush
  13. Let My Love Open the Door by Pete Townshend Eli's Coming by Three Dog Night Let's Go Crazy by Prince (if it's by Prince,it's either about God or sex... or both?) Enter Sandman by Metallica has religious undertones Have I Told You Lately That I Love You? and a lot of others by Van Morrison
  14. 106 times, no Rush and no Journey songs made these lists??? La Villa Strangiato by Rush Topaz by Journey (I'm partial to instrumentals, btw) The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel Long Cool Woman by the Hollies You Didn't Have to Be So Nice by the Lovin' Spoonful Let It Ride by BTO Heart and Soul by Huey Lewis and the News Snowblind by Styx Mississippi Queen by Mountain Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp I didn't repeat bands, but if I did then I'd have the following up there: Stone in Love by Journey Red Barchetta by Rush Bridge over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel (I'm also partial to "message" songs)
  15. Imagine a bunch of high schoolers rubbing zippers to such a song. F'rinstance, Motley Crue's All I Need
