  1. "Rain in the Summertime" - The Alarm "Raining in Baltimore" - Counting Crows "Rain King" - Counting Crows (not really about rain though) "Rain Down"(?) - Phil Collins "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" - Bob Dylan(?) "Shadows in the Rain" - The Police "After The Rain" - Nelson "Blame It on the Rain" - Milli Vanilli "Rain When I Die" - Alice In Chains
  2. The song is by Fuel, but it's not the one listed above. The song is called "Bad Day".
  3. They are working on a new album now. They've never gone away, just tend to fly below most everybody's radar. They put out a live album earlier this year.
  4. I would say.... "Secret" by Maroon5 "A Murder of One" by Counting Crows
  5. I'm with you Muzik...her performance in Monster was fantastic. An Oscar-worthy performance if I've ever seen one. I'd never been much of a fan of hers, but I became one after seeing that movie.
  6. "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind "Running to Stand Still" by U2
  7. It appeared on his album Faith, but I believe the correct title is "One More Try". I would say he wrote it because he often did, at least back in those days. To me, the song has always been addressed to a new lover, who he refers to as "teacher". I guess he calls them teacher because he feels he has a lot to learn about love. It seems that he is reluctant to enter into this new love because of past experiences. It seems that he has been burned and is very bitter to the aspect of another relationship. Lyrics are as follows: I've had enough of danger And people on the streets I'm looking out for angels Just trying to find some peace Now I think it's time That you let me know So if you love me Say you love me But if you don't just let me go... 'Cos teacher There are things that I don't want to learn And the last one I had Made me cry So I don't want to learn to Hold you, touch you Think that you're mine Because it ain't no joy For an uptown boy Whose teacher has told him goodbye, goodbye, goodbye When you were just a stranger And I was at your feet I didn't feel the danger Now I feel the heat That look in your eyes Telling me no So you think that you love me Know that you need me I wrote the song, I know it's wrong Just let me go... And teacher There are things That I don't want to learn Oh the last one I had Made me cry So I don't want to learn to Hold you, touch you Think that you're mine Because it ain't no joy For an uptown boy Whose teacher has told him goodbye, goodbye, goodbye So when you say that you need me That you'll never leave me I know you're wrong, you're not that strong Let me go And teacher There are things That I still have to learn But the one thing I have is my pride Oh so I don't want to Hold you, touch you Think that you're mine Because there ain't no joy For an uptown boy Who just isn't willing to try I'm so cold Inside Maybe just one more try... I don't know, maybe you guys can come up with another explanation based on these lyrics. By the way, this qualifies as one of those songs where the title is in the last line.
  8. "Back In Black" AC/DC "Lick It Up" KISS "Whole Lotta Love" Led Zepplin "Outshined" Soundgarden "Heart-shaped Box" Nirvana "Dam That River" Alice In Chains "Where The Streets Have No Name" U2 "Angels of the Silences" Counting Crows "Superman's Dead" Our Lady Peace "Make Yourself" Incubus "Wicked Garden" Stone Temple Pilots "Animal" Def Leppard "Gel" Collective Soul "So Lonely" The Police "One" Metallica
  9. Mike, I just answered this question in your post about the worst sequels. My choices are "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Toy Story 2".
  10. To me, no sequel ever lives up to the original. With the exception of "The Empire Strikes Back". No wait, "Toy Story 2" is better in my opinion. Back to the question at hand. I would have to say the second Jurassic Park movie, "The Lost World". Fabulous book, horrible movie.
  11. Too many to mention. Album tracks are usually the ones I gravitate to. A few that come to mind are.... "Slaves and Bulldozers" - Soundgarden "Until the End of the World" - U2 "Raining in Baltimore" - Counting Crows "Driven to Tears" - The Police "Sea of Sorrow" - Alice in Chains "If You Leave" - Train
  12. Mindcrime....I've never known INXS to use a flute. Hang on, I'm singing the song in my head now.... It's been so long since I've heard that song, I'm not sure. I would have to say probably not, as they usually just used the sax. I have seen Kirk play a soprano sax so that may have been what he used.
  13. Bono When the Police were still around, I wanted to be Sting. Not anymore....too AC for my taste now.
  14. Several Hall & Oates songs have sax in them. "Maneater", "Say It Isn't So", etc. INXS has some too. "What You Need", "New Sensation", etc. Both of those groups sport a resident sax player.
  15. U2 (3 times) STP Sting (3 or 4 times) Our Lady Peace (twice) Train (twice) INXS (3 times) GNR Cheap Trick Third Eye Blind The Black Crowes (twice...first time rocked, second time sucked) REM Pearl Jam Soundgarden (sucked...right before they broke up) Drivin' N Cryin' Tonic Many more not worth mentioning....
  16. Dave, I agree that the opening scene in "Ghost Ship" was pretty cool. I even found myself watching the DVD extra on how the scene was shot. I'm inexplicably fond of cheesy horror movies.
  17. Sorry I was thinking of this one hit wonder from the 90's called The Verve Pipe. I always got those two bands confused.
  18. Are they still around? I remember one song by them that was really good. I think it was called "The Freshman".
  19. U2 Our Lady Peace Counting Crows The Police Alice in Chains
  20. From what I can remember, she wasn't with Bob anymore. I do remember that some sh*t was going on between Bob and her and it somehow involved her and Michael's daughter. I think that's right. I had also heard a rumor that he didn't really hang himself, but died due to some auto-erotic asphyxiation. Who knows?
  21. Audioslave blows me away. Velvet Revolver just blows.
  22. It was on his self-titled album released in 1982.
  23. The music for Sting's "Russians" is based on a piece by Sergei Prokofiev.
