  1. How about Cross Colors? http://www.geocities.com/angelofwarr/crosscolours.jpg
  2. I can't seem to find a place to legally download it, but you can hear it in its entirety on youtube as listed above or here http://www.imeem.com/boondockbrenda/music/ieGMCvbB/jack_wagner_all_i_need/
  3. Google his name and you get a lot of Columbia University stuff.
  4. I found a compilation called "Pure Hits Now and Then" that has "various artists" (not original artists). It's not Te Who or Queen, but the songs are all over the map. Is this what you were looking for? Songlist: 1. Black Horse And The Cherry Tree 2. Notorious 3. Hips Don't Lie 4. Made For Lovin' You 5. Get Back 6. Message In A Bottle 7. Get Together 8. Rock The Casbah 9. Say Say Say 10. Stars Are Blind 11. I'm Your Man 12. Put A Little Love On Me
  5. Both Violent Femmes "Faith" and Maria McKee's "You Gotta Sin to Get Saved" fit the bill, but neither of them was a radio hit or anything.
  6. Emily Saliers from the Indigo Girls owns a place called Watershed in Decatur GA. The food there is amazing.
  7. Fuel - Song for you Public Image LTD - This is Not a Love Song Nine Days - (Absolutely) Story of a Girl
  8. Also, this song is a similar timeframe and sound, and would explain the "I'm falling" part. Is it possible you have merged these 2 songs? FUEL "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" Memories are just where you laid them Dragging the waters til the depths give up their dead What did you expect to find? Was it something you left behind? Don't you remember anything I said when I said, [Chorus:] Don't fall away and leave me to myself Don't fall away and leave love bleeding in my hands, in my hands again And leave love bleeding in my hands, in my hands Love lies bleeding Oh hold me now I feel contagious Am I the only place that you've left to go? She cries her life is like Some movie in black and white Dead actors faking lines, over and over and over again she cries [Chorus] And I watched as you turned away You don't remember, but I do You never even tried Don't fall away and leave me to myself Don't fall away and leave love bleeding in my hands, in my hands again Leave love bleeding in my hands, in my hands again Leave love bleeding in my hands, in my hands again, oh
  9. Well, there's no "I'm falling", but this song certainly fits the rest of the requirements. Staind - Outside When You Bring me to my knee. All this time that I can beg you please. All the times that I've felt insecure. And I leave my burdens at the door. Chorus I'm on the outside, I'm looking in, I can see through you, See your true colors. 'Cause inside you're ugly, Ugly like me, I can see through you, See you the real you. All this time that I felt like this won't end, was for you. And I taste, but I could never have, its from you. All those times that I tried, my intention, full of pride. And I waste more time than anyone. I'm on the outside, I'm looking in, I can see through you, See your true colors. 'Cause inside you're ugly, Your ugly like me, I can see through you, See you the real you. All the times that I've cried, All this wasted it's all inside. And I feel all this pain, Stuffed it down it's back again. And I lie here in bed, All alone, A can't mend. And I feel tomorrow will be okay. I'm on the outside, I'm looking in, I can see through you, See your true colors. 'Cause inside you're ugly, Ugly like me, I can see through you, See you the real you.
  10. I agree with the Kasey Chambers comment above. She is awesome, to boot.
  11. DraftFCB New York seems to do a lot of Oreo stuff, but I don't know if they did the ad you are looking for.
  12. Write them back and say you're with the CLIO organization, and you'd like to recognize the ad agency that created the spot. Bet you'd get what you needed then.
  13. Tori Amos' first album is mostly piano.
  14. Yea, I could probably help you if you could give us a little bit from the song itself. I love music, but haven't been much into music videos since the early 80's.
  15. I loved them. They actually had a LOT of vampire imagery, even in their non-vampiry songs. Well worth a few downloads, and avoid all that "Joey" and "Caroline" crap that made airplay. Dig around for some of their real treasures.
  16. Concrete Blonde's song "Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)" was directly based on IwtV.
  17. How about this, MusicGirl? It's called That Girl is Gone, and it's by David Pack who was the lead singer for Ambrosia *Oh that girl is gone And it really doesn't matter Who was right or wrong, yeah yeah Oh that girl was mine And it hurts me so to think That she won't even try That girl is gone, gone, gone, gone Lord only knows Which way that she may go Lord only knows Just what she's lookin' for I would beg her if I could To come back home If she were here right now I would put her on the throne I would make her see just how That a man loves a woman, but (* Repeat) That girl is gone, gone, gone, gone Lord only knows How long I've tried to be Faithful to her In every way I would beg her once again To trust in me She ain''t here no more And I'm a broken man And it's easy to say now That I understand, but (* Repeat) Yeah and it hurts me so to think That she could be satisfied That girl is gone Come home to me, baby Oh and it hurts me so to think That she won't even try Yeah and it hurts me so to think That she could be satisfied That girl is gone Yeah yeah, oh that girl is gone Oh the girl is gone...
  18. I'm not in love with this song, but KT Tunstall's Black Horse and Cherry Tree is a hook MACHINE! It has two distinct hooks. First thing I noticed is the "woo hoo" at the end of each stanza. The second noticeable hook in that song is the "no, no, no, no-no-no". Very easy to sing along with, even the very first time you hear the song. I feel sure that the first time she ran that song by her producer, they knew they were looking squarely at a cash cow. That woman writes brilliant hooks.
  19. Yea, I think Laurie is right on. Sometimes songs don't really have a deep dark meaning. Sometimes they're just there to make you feel good. Seems like most of the lyrics to this are really on the surface with no hidden meanings.
  20. I think Blues Traveler defined it extremely well. The hook is what brings you back. Blues Traveler - Hook Lyrics It doesn't matter what I say So long as I sing with inflection That makes you feel I'll convey Some inner truth or vast reflection But I've said nothing so far And I can keep it up for as long as it takes And it don't matter who you are If I'm doing my job then it's your resolve that breaks Because the hook brings you back I ain't tellin' you no lie The hook brings you back On that you can rely There is something amiss I am being insincere In fact I don't mean any of this Still my confession draws you near To confuse the issue I refer To familiar heroes from long ago No matter how much Peter loved her What made the Pan refuse to grow Was that the hook brings you back I ain't tellin' you no lie The hook brings you back On that you can rely Suck it in suck it in suck it in If you're Rin Tin Tin or Anne Boleyn Make a desperate move or else you'll win And then begin To see What you're doing to me this MTV is not for free It's so PC it's killing me So desperately I sing to thee Of love Sure but also rage and hate and pain and fear of self And I can't keep these feeling on the shelf I've tried well no in fact I lied Could be financial suicide but I've got too much pride inside To hide or slide I'll do as I'll decide and let it ride till until I've died And only then shall I abide by this tide Of catchy little tunes Of hip three minute diddys I wanna bust all your ballons I wanna burn of all your cities to the ground But I've found I will not mess around Unless I play then hey I will go on all day Hear what I say I have a prayer to pray That's really all this was And when I'm feeling stuck and need a buck I don't rely on luck because Because the hook brings you back I ain't tellin' you no lie The hook brings you back On that you can rely
  21. I see too that Manfred Mann's Earth Band did this song too. Not sure which one was the original.
