  1. The 1910 Fruitgum Company, the quintessential bubblegum band of the late 60s, led by original members Floyd Marcus and Frank Jeckell, have just released their new [color:#FF00CC]“Bubblegum Christmas†CD on the Collectables label. The band has recorded 9 Christmas standards and 5 new original Christmas songs in the bubblegum style that are sure to get the toes tapping and hands clapping of all fans, old and new. The CD also includes a bonus track of their 1st gold record hit “Simon Saysâ€. To preview 4 songs from the CD, visit www.myspace.com/the1910fgc To purchase a “Bubblegum Christmas†CD, visit www.oldies.com (click on Audio CDs) Thanks, Floyd 1910 FGC
  2. Just a note to let you all know that we have a Christmas CD titled "Bubblegum Christmas" that will be released by Collectables on November 27th. You can check out the cover and 4 of the songs at myspace.com/the1910fgc. We've recorded 9 old favorites arranged with a 'bubblegum' sound and included 4 new original songs. We also have some new video clips on myspace and YouTube. Hope to see you at some of our upcoming shows. We'll be in Henderson, TN on Nov 17th and in Haddonfield, NJ on New Years Eve. Thanks, Floyd 1910 FGC
  3. Thank you all for your nice comments and you guys for coming to the show. I've got to shamelessly promote the webcast from The Cannery Casino Las Vegas on Sept. 1st. Besides, you get to see Ron Dante(The Archies),The Ohio Express, Trini Lopez and others for $8 bucks. That's fair, unless you can get to Vegas. It's www.B2livetv.com/liveevents/music/bubblegumbonanza/billnow/asp I'll be back. Floyd 1910
  4. Hi, I just put a clip of the current band performing "Reflections from the Looking Glass", the B side of Simon Says, on YouTube. Check it out here: Thanks, Floyd
  5. Thanks to everyone for your comments and interest. I think our fans are among the best around. I will try to answer all questions, but please be patient. Thanks, Floyd 1910
  6. Yes, you're right. It was Steve Mortkowitz. When 123 came out as a single, I was not on it. K&K used the Trade Winds to do the tracks. I just wrote this story on the Bubblegum Univ blog. I did play many of the songs on the 123 album, but not that one. In those days, the studios had drum sets setup with sounds they liked. It was rare that a drummer could change anything on the studio drum sets. Floyd
  7. That's me on drums in the old Simon Says video. Here's the clip that was put together by the Netherlands PBS group last November at the Crossroads in Garwood. Floyd
  8. Ron, Forgot to mention that I DJ at Domanis Restaurant in Roselle Park a couple times a month. In fact, I'm there tonight. Unfortunately they're tearing down the place and building condos, so this is my last night here! I've been DJing here for the past 4 or 5 years and they just told me last Saturday night that the place won't be here after next week. Their farewell party is next Saturday night, I believe. My friend John Davis will be the DJ that night. He was in my band 'Miracle' back in the '80s. Floyd 1910 FGC
  9. Ron, You mentioned Buona Gente restaurant in Springfield, NJ. It's actually a great venue for fans because its a small room with limited seating and a great view of the band. The owner, Jimmy, charges $60 per person for the food and entertainment. I forget how many courses the meal is, but its very good (my wife loves it!). See you on the 27th, Floyd
  10. Hi Everyone, Checkout this link for our show in Vegas. It will be viewable on the web at b2livetv. Ron Dante, the Ohio Express, Andrew Gold, Alan O'Day, Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods, Trini Lopez and us, the 1910 Fruitgum Company, will be performing as part of the Bubblegum Bonanza at the Cannery Casino. https://www.b2livetv.com/liveevents/music/bubblegumbonanza/billnow.asp Floyd 1910 FGC
  11. Not to knock anyone, but if you do a little research you can find the truth about The 1910 FGC. On the first album, K&K purposely put film strips on the cover with no large pics. Still our names are listed inside. Also, there are 45 covers with pics from Spain, Italy, England and the Orient. Many are of the original band. Don't believe everything you read out there. It's just plain un-researched reporting. Thanks to our fans, Floyd 1910
  12. Just wanted to add that we're working on a couple of CDs that should be out by the end of the year. One is a Christmas CD, the other a studio CD. Both have old and new songs on them. We did a show in Garwood NJ last November that was filmed by a PBS crew from the Netherlands. They sent us a 5 minute video that included clips of the show, an interview with myself, Frank and Mickie, and some old video clips. It's out on Youtube at In the mid-80s I had a band called the Shadow Page band. I wrote all the songs and put out an album called Hanging by a Thread. It's available on oldies.com at a very reasonable price, but is not out on CD. I'd say it's more 80s rock than bubblegum. I'm also hoping to create my own website and put some song clips out there, but just haven't had the time. Floyd (I also have a myspace page /Floyd1910)
  13. Hi All, There is a lot of misinformation out there regarding the 1910 Fruitgum Company. I'm the original (and current) drummer and have written a blog on Bubblegum University - www.bubblegum-music.com - to tell the real story. Check it out. The other original members were Frank Jeckell (also in the current band), Steve Gutkowski, Pat Karwin, and Mark Gutkowski. Yummy, Yummy was recorded by the Ohio Express (Joey Levine)and was also on one of the FGC LPs (K&K did that a lot). We currently do shows with Ron Dante and have 2 coming up - one in Alabama and one on Sept 1st in Vegas. Hope to see you all at one of our upcoming shows. Floyd Marcus 1910 FGC
