Yeah, the Goodwill Hunting soundtrack is a really good representation of his music. "Angeles" and "Between the Bars" are, I think, easily two of his best songs. And "miss misery" ain't nothin to sneeze at either.

Elliott is similar to the Beatles, Simon+Garfunkel, and Nick Drake. He's more contemporary, but his lyrics are equally cool and incidentally equally depressing. He plays mostly acoustic folk/punk/rock. An excellent singer, writer, guitar and piano player. Even when put up against his amazingly talented and influential influences, he's still my favorite artist.

It saddens me when a really good band chooses a really awful name. Neutral Milk Hotel and the Bare Naked Ladies come to mind...
