  1. I saw this for the first time in the late 90's.

I'd always heard of it. I have to say I thought it would be corny since it was made in the 1950's, I really liked it!

I can see why it was concidered scandalous back then!

I read an article about the woman who wrote the novel last year..she did not have a happy life after writing that book.

  2. Texas is full of talent.

    I live in Houston, Texas.

Archie Bell & the Drells- TIGHTEN UP

Kenny Rogers & the 5th edition(?)- WHAT CONDITION MY CONDITION IS IN(?)

Johnny Nash- I CAN SEE CLEARLY- I used to work in a jewelry store and his wife came in and bought a 5 carat diamond bracelet.

Jennifer Holiday- the ORIGINAL Dreamgirl, her version of AND I AM TELLING YOU blows Jennifer Hudson's out of the water!!

And of course Destiny's Child- My sister used to work down the street from their recording studio.

  4. I've heard a bit about The Midnight Special and have recently seen it advertised for sale on dvd. Lots of my favourite bands/singers are featured on the dvds and I was wondering if those who have seen the show think it'd be worth buying.

YES! Brings back alot of memories from my childhood.

I remember that's the first time I ever saw Prince. He had feathered Farrah Fawcett hair and was wearing a black vest, black leggings with black suede ankle boots(high heels of course)....and a pair of leopard print speedos!

  5. I was once writing out the lyrics for Cream - Badge. An older guy in the same office used to perform it with his band, so was helping.

Then he said "Did I tell you 'bout our kid, now he's not a tomato". Of course I burst out laughing. He was serious. :D

The line is: "Did I tell you 'bout our kid, now he's married to Mabel."

He had been doing it live for about 5 years in their set and no-one either noticed or said anything. :D

    That is too funny!!!

King Of Wishful Thinking by Go West (the Pretty Woman soundtrack).

When he sings "I'll get over you,

    I know I will.

    I'LL PRETEND MY SHIP'S NOT

    SINKIN'"

    My coworker thought he said

    "I'LL PRETEND MY SH*T'S NOT

    STINKIN'"

  7. This is the saddest song ever written. Add to that the way George Jones sings it, and you are wallowing in tears before it's half over. Take a listen:

    He Stopped Loving Her Today

This is a very sad song. I actually listened to the whole song for the first time a few months ago while flipping through radio stations in a traffic jam.

When I was little "WildFire" by Micheal M Murphy always made me sad.

Also "Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross. I've actually had to change the radio when it comes on.
