  1. Just found the answer today. The reason why the song was so elusive is that it was performed by a Mexican group that sang in English instead of Spanish: Por Perderte (For Losing You) by La Tribu Author: Miguel Morales. Album: La Tribu Year: 1971 So I guess this thread can be closed now. But I may still return and ask new questions =P.
  2. Thanks for trying anyway! I finally found the info for the first song: Let me Get to Love You - Gilly Mason (Palmers) Album: Let me Get to Love You/Every Day I Have to Cry Year: 1976 It confused me a bit since the lyrics are not anywhere on the internet and the only images linked to Gilly Mason until recently featured a man (hinting a male singer), but it is indeed that song, and I found a cover with a female singer accordingly. And just in case anybody was curious about the first song I asked about on the boards: http://forum.songfacts.com/showtopic.php?tid/141090/post/261976/hl//fromsearch/1/#261976 It turned out to be "You Took my Breath Away" by Kaplan Kaye, apparently from 1976.
  3. Just one more thing: Here's a sample of the first song that I asked about at the beginning of this [merged] tread: http://rapidshare.com/files/45512119/Secondsample.mp3.html Just in case somebody wants to give it a try. Thanks a lot everybody.
  4. Excuse me for bumping this topic, but the merging sent it to the sixth page.
  5. Thanks a lot for the help explaining the rapidshare thing =). I'm not sure how the song is called actually. When I do a search on the internet or on iTunes, some songs with "losing you" in the title come out, but none is this particular song. I previously posted a question with what I can "understand" of the lyrics (I have a bad ear for English) here: http://forum.songfacts.com/showtopic.php?tid/142075/post/312917/hl//fromsearch/1/ Let me feel something deep inside, for i wanna know she left a lonely place for me and I wanna cry she's gone away, left me behind, that makes me cry for I'm losing you They don't make as much sense as I wish, so I assume I misheard some words.
  6. Can anybody identify this song, or better yet, the singer/group? http://rapidshare.com/files/45038846/Losingyou.mp3.html I had already asked before with no success, but I managed to get a sample of it; the quality is bad, but I guess that someone who really knows should be able to recognise it because of its music. Thanks.
  7. Hello everyone. I finally found what I was looking for the last time, so I decided to come back and expose a few more doubts to you. Once again I have troubles with a couple of songs that I have only heard, but know nothing about them. I can't find their lyrics and I can only guess the titles. 1. I'm almost certain that the first song is from the seventies. The singer is female, and what I can remember of the lyrics goes like this: Tell me what to do, I'm so in love with you [?] --Tell me [] And Heaven knows I've tried to live without your touch But here I go again, just missing you too much. Chorus: Let me get to love you, baby, let me hold you tight. Let me get to love you, if it's only for tonight. A woman needs a man, you know it's such a natural thing, Like Christmas in December or how Summer follows Spring. Let me get to love you, baby, let me hold you tight Let me get to love you, so come on, turn out the light, Just give me ....(chance?) and I'll ... my love is real So come a little closer and I'll show you show you how I feel. You said that I'm a fool, just breaking every rule People talk (.......) (........) And Heaven knows I've tried to live without your touch But here I go again, just missing you too much. Chorus: [music] Heaven knows I've tried to live without your touch But here I go again, just missing you too much, missing you too much. Chorus: Ahh, how I relly feel Come a little closer... Ah you're my man. AH! Don't say bye bye! [fades] 2. The second seems just as old, but the style is very different. The singer is male, and the lyrics include the following phrases: let me feel something deep inside, for i wanna know she [...] for me and I wanna cry she's gone away, left me behind, that makes me cry for I'm losing you The actual song is very short, but after it, the singer goes "La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la" for quite a while, with some echoes added. The way the song ends reminds me of "Daydream" by The Wallace Collection. As an extra question, I'd like to ask if somebody knows who wrote the song "You're my Everything" that is sung by Santa Esmeralda. Perhaps someone who owns the album "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" can tell me. Thanks in advance,
  8. I'm with JuniorNB in this one. It must be Montego Bay with Bobby Bloom. Here are the lyrics: Montego Bay - Bobby Bloom (Bobby Bloom/Jeff Barry) Album: Montego Bay(?) Year: 1970 Vernon'll meet me when the Boac lands Keys to the MG will be in his hands Adjust to the driving 'n' I'm on my way It's all on the right side in Montego Bay Sing out Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh Come sing me La Come sing me Montego Bay Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh 'N' Gillian'll meet me like a brother would I think I remember but it's twice as good Like how cool the rum is from his silver tray I thirst to be thirsty in Montego Bay Sing out Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh Come sing me La Come sing me Montego Bay Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh ---- Whistling Interlude ---- I'll lay on a lilo till I'm lobster red I still feel the motion here at home in bed I tell you it's hard for me to stay away You ain't been 'till you been high in Montego Bay Sing out Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh Come sing me La Come sing me Montego Bay Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh, ooooh Bands in the streets Just sing me La Come sing me Montego Bay Whoa-oh-oh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh Oh, what a beautiful morning Oh, what a beautiful day And I got a beautiful feelin' Everthin' goin' my way
  9. Whoa, thanks UncleJoe... The lyrics you posted seem to be from the song I once heard, but I'm a little puzzled, as I don't remember it being in that style (I heard some samples on the internet, they all have similar music, regardless of the singer). But other than that, that seems to be the song. Thanks again. -------------------------------------------- Edit: I forgot to mention to song #1 that it is sung by at least 2 male singers.
  10. I just had the chance to listen the song # 1 on the radio. I wish I could have recorded it. Here are the lyrics revised: (starts with orchesta playing loudly) You took my breath away Now I've seen the truth in your eyes, no lies And love, such a sad affair. No one (...) it's true(?) (...) Each day I say: Nothing's gonna stop us going, on and on and on. (...) my heart, won't stop. All your love keeps my heart going, Round and round and round. You took my breath away Now I've seen the truth in your eyes, no lies And love, such a sad affair. No one (...) it's true(?) Loving, hating, always waiting For a dream to come along My way and stay and play My heart, your heart (?), reaching new heights Now I've got someone to love Who'll never go away, hey! You took my breath away Now I've seen the truth in your eyes, no lies And love, such a sad affair. No one (...) it's true(?) (repeats and fades) Unfortunately, I still ignore the title and the singer(s)' name(s), and internet searches still give me no results. I'm afraid the lyrics might not be disclosed.
  11. Gee, thank you, I'll follow your advice. The first is some kind of ballad. I could be wrong about some words, but I really doubt I misheard all of them. It confuses me a lot because, it's as if the song doesn't exist in the internet... The second song was sung by a male singer. Reminded me a bit of Barry Manilow, but I really doubt it was him. Style was probably Pop. I wish I knew more about any of the three songs, but the only thing that may be true about them is that they all could be quite old; at least the first might be from the 70s. I knew about all of them from a radio station specialized in old music (though they also aired modern music from time to time). Thanks agian, I'll keep searching. - And, yup I was 18 back then.
  12. Hello. I'm new to the forums and, in fact, I joined so i could ask for help with a few songs. Any help will be greatly appreaciated. Please forgive any grammar/ortography mistake, English is not my 1st tongue. 1. In the past, I used to listen to certain song on the radio, apparently performed by a group. What I can remeber goes like this: [starts with the chorus] You took my breath away Now I see the thruth In your eyes - no lies. And love, such a sad affair, [can't remember this verse] The rest of the song included lyrics like: loving, hating, always waiting (...) each day I say: Nothing's gonna stop us going on and on and on... / For your love's what keeps me going, on and on and on I've been doing internet searches like crazy, but no word combination gives me results; even tough I often mishear lyrics, I always at least get some word combinations right, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I ignore the title and the artist/band, so I can only hope that someone identifies the words I have posted. 2. About 11 years ago, I heard (only once) a song in the radio. After so many years, I forgot everything about it, save the subject: it was a song dedicated to people who tried but failed. It was like singing "Hooray for the guy who didn't make it", though I doubt those exact words were used. The reason I dare to ask with so little information is because I always tought the song was quite odd, and that anybody else who had listened to it would probably remember something about it. 3. Well, my last case is similar to the second: years ago I heard a song that seemed a bit more like a narration, and seemed to be about a guy who found himself in a strange place and saw the devil on top of a volcano. He seemed to be afraid to have arrived to hell and apparently, he wanted to get away. I know I'm giving too little info, but I have got not results with search engines, so you are my only hope before giving up. Thanks in advance.
