  1. It depends how the boat floats. I'd like to do a few here and there, but I need to get a feel for things first. I've been reading some and will most likely reply to the ones that I know a thing or two (album facts?).
  2. Would I be alone in thinking Franz Ferdinand had a decent follow up to their debut? Good kicking stuff. Normally, I dislike "New" New Wave stuff and boring Electroclash, but I couldn't help liking both albums. Same goes for Ladytron (but I won't admit that to people who know me).
  3. I'm riding high on a Disco kick. I have favourite artists for every genre, but I've had Patrick Juvet's Disco-Synthy score for Laura, Les Ombres De L'Ete playing a vicious loop (it's a little over 34 minutes in running time).
  4. As stated above, we could discuss this for days on end. We'd dig up old issues of Foreign Policy to look for articles on these events and it could go on and on. What I'm trying to get at is a couple of things: 1. I'm from the US and I believe the US should have a neutral stance in this matter and 2. Israel is not immune from being an oppressor and a terrorist state themselves, as evidenced by the latest actions (although there are plenty more that I could dig up to counter any claims that it's only Hezbollah doing all the bad deeds). Remember this, Hezbollah wouldn't exist if Israel had no invaded Lebanon. Hezbollah would not have attacked the US military base in Lebanon had we been neutral in that matter (were we even invited by the Lebanese govt.? Not that I recall). Hezbollah (as well as Hamas) have never declared open war on the US, nor have they ever been caught actively trying to undermine this nation by spying or having terrorist cells within this country (Israel has been caught twice spying in top office and one of those traitors is serving a life sentence for it). If we keep being allies with Israel, Hezbollah could change its mind about us easily. It's not about who is right or wrong because there are no longer good guys and bad guys in that situation. However, I do care what happens to us. We're already dealing with al-Qaeda and I'd hate to see the day when we have to deal with Hezbollah and Hamas because of this.
  5. I wouldn't know, Georgia Peach. Cats are smelly and leave waaay too much dander around the house for me to care. You'll never hear a dog say it, though. They're just as smelly and messy, but they got a bit o' more personality in spite of their uncanny loyalty.
  6. Are you saying those posters who share my opinion are also anti-Semitic? How do you think the initial article of this topic reads to those who disagree with it? It certainly did not come off as fair and balanced. I suppose it was written by an anti-Semite as well (Arabs, of course, being Semitic people).
  7. Ah, I have not quite turned a blind eye to radical Islamists. They, too, are terrorists. That's the thing, though. We label one group as terrorists and the other we endorse to the tune of 2 billion USD yearly plus arm them to the teeth. There's gotta be some truth in there in the middle of these extremes.
  8. He starred in a movie called Wild Zero. Strange, strange movie with some weird and cheezy fx. It sort of reminded me of the weirdness from Repo Man. Very Garage-like sound and look they had in the movie.
  9. Stella Stevens! Haha. I remember her from The Courtship of Eddie's Father. She had that little impromptu jazzy drum solo; very saxy.
  10. Hmm. No songs by The Smiths, The Cure, Depeche Mode. I guess they make depressing sound good.
  11. Weeks ago, Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Their aim was to see if they could broker a deal with Israel and trade their kidnapped people. Israel thought they could just do as they please and decided to bomb southern Lebanon to bits in search of these two soldiers. No matter how aggressive their efforts were and how much they were decimating the infrastructure of Lebanon, they weren't getting anywhere near the two kidnapped soldiers. World opinion was that Israel grossly overreacted to this situation. US opinion was deafening silence. Of course, it goes further than a couple of months ago. I'm curious myself as to why you brought up al-Qaeda and Hamas a couple of posts before when I was writing about Hezbollah and Lebanon... do you know the facts or do you use the names of separate entities interchangeably...?
  12. I like Paris Hilton. She could be just another boring socialite mooching off her parents' fame and wealth, which she does, but she adds a little zing to things. No matter how godawful her acting and singing are, she will be there to be the lightning rod of talk soup and discussion boards such as this one. It doesn't hurt that she's a bit easy on the eye and not a total prude about her... other assets.
  13. I lost count, but they're not that many. I'd say around 1500 cds not counting cd-rs of extra junk. I'd have more music, but I also like to collect books, dvds, and videocassettes.
  14. Probably Garbage. Personally, I didn't like their second album as much as their first, but everyone else loved it.
  15. Probably heard it from a chick... along with other whoppers in the magnitude of "what goes around comes around" or "karma!".
  16. Exactly. Murdering the innocent inhabitants of Lebanon achieved nothing in the end for Israel, except dump more blame on their side for what is currently happening. This is the sort of thing that can make almost anyone, except this bumbling administration (i.e. the US), lose patience with Israeli terrorist actions in Lebanon. Here is another person who is seeing the situation for what it is: http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/07/31/hagel.mideast/index.html
  17. I love it when chicks tell me this as if it was the most profound thing they could impart on me: "Everything happens for a reason". The last time I got that line, I retorted with: "Has there ever been a time when something happened for no reason?"
  18. You're not alone in this either. It might be unfashionable to Jews (because they already answer to a higher authority) and to most North Americans (since they're oblivious to what's happening over there), but it's quite a popular opinion wherever else you go.
  19. I don't stand for yellow, biased, zionist journalism such as this piece either. World opinion or not, Israel is also a terrorist state and murders innocent people for the sake of their own goals. I'd be a coward to not call a spade a "spade". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=249JaIaubVw
