  1. From my all-time favorite movie, Almost Famous: Penny Lane: Maybe it is love, as much as it can be, for somebody.... William Miller: who sold you to Humble Pie for fifty bucks and a case of beer! I was there! I was there!.... Oh God, I'm sorry. Penny Lane: (pauses, sniffs, wipes a tear) What kind of beer? AND - Penny Lane: I always tell the girls - never take it seriously. If you never take it seriously, you never get hurt. If you never get hurt, you always have fun. And if you ever get lonely, you just go to the record store and visit your friends. I loved the last line so much that I use it in my signature line for my email!
  2. Yes, I know. I know. My thought processes are definitely on the unusual side. Still, it was interesting to put the idea out there, so to speak.
  3. Hi there. Thanks for replying. At the risk of being tedious, I'll go through each line and show you what I mean. Josie's on a vacation far away Come around and talk it over (THE GUY SPEAKING) So many things that I want to say (THE GIRL SPEAKING) You know I like my girls a little bit older I just wanna use your love tonight (THE GUY) I don't wanna lose your love tonight (THE GIRL) I ain't got many friends left to talk to No one's around when I'm in trouble (THE GUY) You know I'd do anything for you (THE GIRL) Stay the night, we'll keep it under cover I just wanna use your love tonight (THE GUY) I don't wanna lose your love tonight (THE GIRL) Try and stop my hands from shaking Something in my mind's not making sense (THE GUY) It's been awhile since we've been all alone I can't hide the way I'm feeling (THE GIRL) As you leave me please would you close the door And don't forget what I told you Just cause you're right, that don't mean I'm wrong Another shoulder to cry upon I just wanna use your love tonight (THE GUY) I don't wanna lose your love tonight (THE GIRL)
  4. Hopefully, one of you will be able to help me with this question. I just finished reading the lyrics to "Your Love" by The Outfield. I've always known that the song was about a guy trying to get an old girlfriend to sleep with him while his current girlfriend is away. However, is it my imagination or do the lyrics seem to be a dialogue between this guy and the girl he wants to bed? It seems to go back and forth from each person's perspective - from the initial request to after the deed is done when he says, "As you leave me, please would you close the door?" Thanks for your help.
