The Essex Green - "Cannibal Sea" (2006)
10/10
A perfect indie album. I downloaded it A LONG time ago but just recently listened to it again and discovered how great it is. Every song is so catchy and sounds like it came straight out of the late 1960s. Buy it.

Getting one of my best friends to switch into my AP Chem class so I'm not alone is proving to be difficult...

Of Monsters and Men - "Mountain Sound"
Rootsy music has been a recent obsession of mine...

Good luck to you, a tough year but if you do well you'll be so far ahead of the game!
Thanks. As of the end of my sophomore year, I'm currently ranked first in my class with a weighted percentage GPA of 104.7713. I only had one AP class in the last two years, so that should jump up if I do well this year.
I am still worried about AP Chem though. Honors Chem was my lowest grade throughout all of last year...But only because we didn't have many grades and I got B's on most of the exams.

Jeez..how'd you know? I haven't used a desktop since I was in middle school...
The next post will come from someone who dislikes television.

Tough, tough schedule. Gonna be nose to the grindstone for JonnyBoy.
Definitely. A lot of my time will probably be spent studying. Especially for AP Chem. I had the same teacher for Honors Chem last year and know how difficult he is...
And Advanced Placement classes are equivalent to taking the course in college. If you do well enough on the end-of-the year AP Exams, you can get college credits without having to take the class again.

The class schedules for my junior year went online yesterday. I actually like my schedule for the first time of my three years in high school. No stupid filler classes; I got basically everything I wanted at the end of last year.
1. AP Psychology
2. AP World History
3. AP English Language and Composition
4. Biology
5. AP Chemistry
6. AP US History II
7. Band
8. Trigonometry
5 AP classes, though. *shudder*

Mumford and Sons - I Will Wait
The lead single of their new record! Shows great potential.
-
Sugarcult - Stuck in America
-
Admiral Fallow - "Guest of the Government"
I still need to get their new album and import the vinyl version of their first. I wonder how much shipping will be...
-
Coldplay - Paradise
I bought their new album when it was a quarter on Google Play Music and this is the only song I've listened to from it. It's starting to grow on me...
-
It quite agitates me that a lot of great modern albums will only be pressed on vinyl in the UK and I'll have to play shipping out the wazoo if I want to import them.
Case in point:
Admiral Fallow's "Boots Met My Face"
Ed Sheeran's "+"
just to name 2 I can think of off the top of my head.

The last 3 days in Pittsburgh was fun...it was nice seeing our daughter graduate...both girls now with college degrees, awesome!....never knew Pittsburg was so hilly and all these winding narrow roads and bridges and tunnels!...we only got lost once...everyone we met was sooooo nice though...we had fun even if it rained the whole time...
I love Pittsburgh. Being only a 90-ish minutes away, I get there somewhat often. I always get a kick out of getting out of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel on 22 and in a little while seeing the huge mess of overpasses, underpasses, exits, and bridges that is downtown Pittsburgh.

Interpol - "The Heinrich Maneuver"
I currently can't sleep and there is nothing on TV so I guess I'm just going to listen to music...
-
The Essex Green - "Uniform"
-
Ed Sheeran - You Need Me, I Don't Need You
"They say I'm up and coming like I'm f*cking in an elevator!"
-
Massive Attack - "Teardrop"

Abandoned Pools - Start Over
What a mess our lives turned out to be
It was at its best when you and I were only 3
We can start with all the things that turn us out
And we can go right down the list and throw them out
Can we start, start over?
Can we start, start over?
It's all over
It's all over
Here you are and there's where you wanna be
But don't think you don't have company
Think of all the lonely people in the world
And if it's God who made us why we so damn cruel
Can we start, start over?
Can we start, start over?
It's all over
It's all over
We can never lie
And you can never steal the time
And we can only watch them die
And we can never find out why
We can start with all the things that turn us out
And we can go right down the list and throw them out
Can we start, start over?...
It's all over...
You may be wondering why I bolded the third and fourth lines of the bridge. They have a certain meaning to me, although for a stupid reason.
This was used as the ending theme of season 1 of Clone High (have I talked about this show enough? It's just so damn good...) and is quite an emotional moment of the show. Spoliers
So, at the end of the 13th episode, Abe FINALLY realizes his feelings for Joan are more than just platonic. As he runs around the prom looking for her, he finds Joan in the freezer in bed with JFK. (All while "Start Over" is playing) Then, the conga line led my Principal Scudworth, who was about to get the clones taken from him by the Secret Board of Shadowy Figures, got into the freezer and that is when John Stamos pulls the lever and freezes everyone. The final words out of Abe's mouth were, "But Joan, I love---" and that is when the series ended. So, we watched them "die" and we will never find out why or what happens.

Titus Andronicus-"A More Perfect Union"
''From whence shall we expect the approach of danger? Shall some transatlantic giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe and Asia could not, by force, take a drink from the Ohio River or set a track on the Blue Ridge in the trial of a thousand years. If destruction be our lot, we ourselves must be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we will live forever, or die by suicide.''
There'll be no more counting the cars on the garden state parkway
Nor waiting for the Fung Wah bus to carry me to who-knows-where
And when I stand tonight, 'neath the lights of the Fenway
Will I not yell like hell for the glory of the Newark Bears?
Because where I'm going to now, no one can ever hurt me
Where the well of human hatred is shallow and dry
No, I never wanted to change the world, but I'm looking for a new New Jersey
Because tramps like us, baby, we were born to die
I'm doing 70 on 17, 80 over 84
And I never let the Meritt Parkway magnetize me no more
Give me a brutal Somerville summer,
Give me a cruel New England winter
Give me the great Pine Barrens
So I can see them turned into splinters
And if I come in on a donkey, let me go out on a gurney
I want to realize too late I never should have left New Jersey
I sense the enemy, they're rustling around in the trees
I thought I had gotten away but the followed me to 02143
Woe, oh woe is me, no one knows the trouble I see
When they hang Jeff Davis from a sourapple tree, I'll sit beneath the leaves and weep
None of us shall be saved, every man will be a slave
For John Brown's body lies a'mouldring in the grave and there's rumbling down in the caves
So if it's time for choosing sides, and to show this dirty city how we do the Jersey Slide
And if it deserves a better class of criminal,
Then I'm'a give it to them tonight
So we'll rally around the flag, rally around the flag
Rally around the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the Battle Cry of Freedom
Rally around the flag, rally around the flag
Glory, glory, Hallelujah, His truth is marching on
