  1. Six months after System of a Down's Mezmerize debuted at number one on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart, the uncompromising and outspoken quartet returns with Hypnotize, part two of a promised two-album set. American Recordings/Columbia will release two versions of Hypnotize, the band's fifth studio album, on November 22. Both the CD and DualDisc versions feature 12 new songs as well as artwork by Vartan Malakian, father of SOAD's guitarist/singer Daron. The packaging for Hypnotize is specially designed to physically join Mezmerize and Hypnotize together, forming one unified product with continuous artwork. Additionally, the DualDisc edition will contain exclusive behind-the-scenes footage showing the making of both records. More importantly, the albums interlock musically. The final track on Hypnotize, "Soldier Side" completes "Soldier Side Intro," which appears as the opening track on Mezmerize. HYPNOTIZE Track Listing 1. "Attack" 2. "Dreaming" 3. "Kill Rock 'n Roll" 4. "Hypnotize" 5. "Stealing Society" 6. "Tentative" 7. "U-Fig" 8. "Holy Mountains" 9. "Vicinity of Obscenity" 10. "She's Like Heroin" 11. "Lonely Day" 12. "Soldier Side"
  2. yea i agree, other choice tracks on the album are haiti, power out, wake up. such a good album although i will admit i didn't think so at first. it took a few listen throughs to win me over. They also have an EP out released in 2003 - no where near the awsomeness of FUneral, but very good precursor none the less. Choice track of Self titled Ep 'headlights look like diamonds' so damn good...
  3. yes, these guys are solid up and comers. their sound is in the same vein as Franz ferdinand, The killers (minus the keys), the hives, etc. Maximo Park definately bring another perspective to the scene. noteworthy tracks: Apply Some Pressure Graffiti The Coast is Always Changing The Night I Lost my Head
  4. i agree 100 percent. I found out about him a few months ago, he was passing through Toronto and i got ahold dof his cd. Every track is great, but i dislike the 0:45 sec interludes, even though they are great phrases. all in all, a great performer. check him out
  5. i was amazed to see that no one has mentioned these guys yet. The Arcade Fire have really gained a lot of popularity recently in Canada. coming from Montreal, these guys have been touring like crazy over the past year, playing with acts such as Coldplay, U2, Franz Ferdinand, Lou Barlow, Death From Above 1978, the Strokes, and collaborating in a live performance David Bowie. Their debut full length album 'Funeral' recieved universal acclaim - http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/arcadefire/funeral - , you'd be hard pressed to find a better album in 2004. You should be able find it fairly easily. Expect big things from these guys with their somphmore release expected in the next 8-12 months.
