Do you know which one of them sang it, the decade and if it was a single or album track? That may help.
I have no idea, but I'll keep thinking

Another bad one was the song / music video Bruce Willis did back in the late 80's. I forget the name of the song.
-
Actually, Mindcrime, I only heard the song once or twice and don't own the album, so I'm not sure how the lyrics go. I just know it has nothing to do with robbing banks or crashing cars, at least not literally. I remember there was a big scandal about that video being violent and the song is not about violence at all.
Peter Gabriel had some cool videos back in the 80's and they sort of related to the songs. My favorite was "Big Time"

I'm trying to think of ones that are a little bit different than the ones already mentioned here, but still distinctive
Bennie and the Jets - Elton John
Sympathy for the Devil & Start Me up- my obligatory Stones ones
The Stranger - Billy Joel
LA Woman - The Doors
La Grange - ZZ Top
-
How about Mr. David Hasselhoff? I heard his rendition of "Do you Love Me?" once and the only thing worse than the singing was the dancing.
Travolta should stick to acting and dancing. Actually, if you buy that single, you should get a free set of earplugs!!!
-
Party All the Time - Eddie Murphy
Heartbeat - Don Johnson (even though I own the album )
I didn't think that "She's Like the Wind" by Patrick Swayze was so bad when it came out, but I recently heard it on the radio and oooh, was it painful!
Richard Gere in "Chicago". His voice sounded strange and nasally to me.

I agree with Mindcrime, most videos are like that. I never saw that Madonna video "What it Feels Like for a Girl", but after hearing the song and hearing what was in the video, I wondered what robbing people and crashing a car had to do with the song.

"I'll Stand By You" the Pretenders
"Have I told you lately" Van Morrison
"Can't Help Falling in Love With You" Elvis
"Just the Way You Are" or "You're My Home" Billy Joel
"You're My Best Friend" Queen
"True Companion" Marc Cohn
"You Belong to me" The Drifters (I could be wrong, if so, someone correct me)
At my wedding, I let my husband pick our first dance...he picked "Pride and Joy" by Stevie Ray Vaughan. It surprised everyone who was expecting a "cheesy" love song.
-
"Time in a Bottle" Jim Croce
"Margaritaville" Jimmy Buffet
"I Can See Clearly Now" Johnny Nash (I'm not sure on that name)
"Nobody Does It Better" Rita Coolidge
I don't know if you are putting any disco stuff in there, but "How Deep Is Your Love?" may qualify.

E.T, Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan
I don't like to cry at movies, but these had me weeping. I'm eager to see "The Terminal". Steve S. and Tom H.....what a team!
-
I love Tom Hanks and I really want to see "The Terminal". I thought we were talking about straight drama actors and nothing else. However, if we are going across all genres (comedy being harder than drama) then Tom gets my vote.
Also, I thought about it later and Russell Crowe did a "comedy" called "Mystery, Alaska", but he didn't really play a comic role. So I guess I contradicted myself in my own choice!
-
Don't forget the Queen of Soul!
Anyway, I think Meryl Streep should be the queen of drama, or maybe Nicole Kidman, but I don't know about a king....maybe Russell Crowe. DeNiro does too much comedy now to qualify and Tom Hanks bounces back and forth (even though I love both of them)
-
I recently watched it and loved it. I don't like that Laura Linney's character and her co-worker don't get together, but it was her choice.
I also liked the couple that were the stand-ins for the porno movie. It was hilarious how they were simulating all these sex acts but talking about traffic or the weather or whatever....it took a little "steam" out of all those hot movie love scenes for me, because all actors probably do that.
I loved "Uncle Billy" too. "Don't buy drugs...become a pop star and they'll give them to you for free!!!!"

R.O.C.K. in the USA by John Mellencamp mentions a bunch of 50's and 60's artists (Jackie Wilson, Shangri-Las, Young Rascals)
Night Shift by the Commodores sort of eulogized Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson
Mr. Jones by Counting Crows has a line "I want to be Bob Dylan"
I'm sure there's tons more, but that's three off the top of my head
-
Music of the Night - Phantom
Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat - Guys and Dolls
On My Own - Les Miserables
Step in Time - Mary Poppins (Does that count?)

I was just visiting another site where they have discussion forums and some people there were pretty nasty. It seems a lot more civil here.
I see no point in going on a topic about a band or artist you don't like and saying "so and so SUX". Are you 5? I tend to spend time discussing what I do like or learning about what I don't know.
Everyone has music they like for no other reason than it's fun or makes them feel good. Pop music is meant for that and there's nothing wrong with liking it.
That being said, I really liked "Everybody" by the Backstreet Boys when it came out...I would probably still sing along if it came on the radio.

Hi Dawn:
A friend of mine left for a new job last year, so when we took her out to say Goodbye, I played "Already Gone" by the Eagles on the Jukebox
-
"Danger zone" from Top Gun. You can't hear the opening notes without seeing that plane (I'm terrible with identifying them, so I won't hazard a guess and get told "that's not the kind of plane they flew in the movie!!!")
And now....next time I hear "Jump" by the Pointer Sisters I will see Hugh Grant shuffling across the floor in "Love Actually"
How about "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. When you hear that you see John Cusack holding up the big boombox....

Well, if you are looking for songs that are "definitive" of each decade, then maybe for the '80's:
Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
Orange Crush - REM (was that '80's?)
Definitely a lot of English stuff--Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, to name a few
For the '90's, definitely some grunge:
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Evenflow or Alive - Pearl Jam
and then we had the "Lillith Fair" years, so I'd pick some Sarah McLachlan and You Oughta Know by Alanis Morrissette for starters
Maybe some other members out there can give you more varied choices. I'm mostly a mainstream radio girl
-
Some of my favorites:
The Tide is High - Blondie
Come Dancing - The Kinks
Steal My Sunshine - Len
-
"More Than Words" - Extreme
"I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" - Aerosmith
"Angie" - The Rolling Stones
"Love of a Lifetime" - Firehouse

I'll take a guess. I don't have the CD you're mentioning, but if it's a recent song, it might be "The Anthem" by Good Charlotte. Here's a sample of the chorus
I don't ever want to be you
Don't want to be just like you
(don't know these few words) this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You, don't wanna be you
Hope this helps!
Who sings "Master of the House" ??

Hi:
I have a tape of the original London cast and the character of Thenardier is credited to Alun Armstrong. His voice is perfect for the song
I love that show!
Hope that helps
