  1. I can relate to that, CanAm, being laid off sucks. I have found exercise to be a wonderful cure for depression. Oh, and everyone wish me luck. I have a job interview today with a small microbiology lab here in the county. If I get it, some changes will have to be made, but I think it will all work out in the end.
  2. We ended up with a foot of snow after an initial prediction of 1-3 inches....thank goodness neither of us had to go to work the next day, and when I had to go Sunday, the snow was powdery, so cleaning up wasn't so bad. Next week, they predict warm weather and rain, so this snow will go bye-bye
  3. On Monday, I got a chance to go out for a bit, so I treated myself to a couple of new sweaters and some junk food
  4. I try, but I live with someone who is a serial complainer and very negative. Almost everyday, I lose patience early in the morning and then feel like a loser the rest of the day. So staying positive is actually a struggle, but yes, I try very hard.
  5. Shiny Happy People - REM
  6. I didn't even know he was sick, so when I heard the news this morning, I was shocked!!! A true original who will be sorely missed. RIP David.
  7. They are cutting hours at work, which is suckish for my wallet, but I've chosen to try and make the best of it by getting back to exercising and reading some good books curled up by the pellet stove. Going to the library later to stock up
  8. I know I'm late, but I hope 2016 brings you all health, love and prosperity. I have a resolution to eat healthier, and to be more patient. Already failing at both.
  9. I just had chicken and noodles for lunch and then some cookies. My resolution is to eat healthier, but I won't be stocking the fridge until tomorrow, so I had to make do with what I could scavenge from leftovers.
  10. I bought new sneakers last night. Now, I have to start my walks again.
  11. The Good Dinosaur - 7.5/10 Beautifully animated, but basically your typical tearjerker Disney story. It didn't make as much of an impact as most Pixar/Disney movies, but like I said, beautiful to look at. Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 9/10 I will not spoil anything for those who haven't seen it, but I haven't been this excited about a Star Wars movie in ages. Very evocative and respectful of the original trilogy, while still introducing you to some new characters that you can care about. I like that many of the OT characters appeared (but where's Lando) and that it still left a lot of questions even after giving away major plot points. It made my daughter want to see the OT, which we weren't successful in getting her to watch previously.
  12. It has happened...Nirvana has become music that is played at the supermarket. "All Apologies" was playing last week during my shift. Man, I feel old!!!!!!
  13. Love Yourself - Justin Bieber Don't hate me...it's on the spotify playlist I chose
  14. If you wanna make the world a better place Just look at yourself and make a change
  15. I like Facebook, but lately logging on has me frustrated. I have friends with different political beliefs and I can respect that, but every other post from some of them is political. Politics has its place, but I really don't want my news feed cluttered with hateful comments against a certain candidate or supporting hateful comments from another one. Maybe I need to take a Facebook break for a while.
