  2. I saw the title to this post and immediately thought of The Wall -- before I opened it and saw the list. Wow, so it was really a drug movie after all? ::
  3. Four Non Blondes had one CD: Bigger Better Faster More! (1992). Linda Perry, lead vocalist, released a 1996 solo album, In Flight, that didn?t do well, and soon after, she seemed to fall off the map. No longer one of 4 Non Blondes, Linda Perry has found new success as a songwriter and producer for megastars like Pink and Christina Aguilera; she produced Pink's Missundaztood album in 2001.

  5. Giving You The Best That I Got Anita Baker Ain't there something I can give you In exchange for everything you give to me Read my mind and make me feel just fine When I think my peace of mind is out of reach The scales are sometimes unbalanced And you bear the weight of all that has to be I hope you see that you can lean on me And together we can calm a stormy sea We love so strong and so unselfishly And I tell you now that I made a vow I'm giving you the best that I got, baby Yes I tell you now, that I made a vow I'm giving you the best that I got, honey Everybody's got opinions 'Bout the way they think our story's gonna end Some folks feel it's just a superficial thrill Everybody's gonna have to think again We love so strong and so unselfishly They don't bother me so I'm gonna keep on Giving you the best that I got, baby They don't bother me, said I'm gonna keep on Giving you the best that I got, listen baby Somebody understands me Somebody gave his heart to me I stumbled my whole life long Always on my own, now I'm home My weary mind is rested And I feel as if my home is in your arms Fears are all gone, I like the sound of your song And I think I want to sing it forever We love so strong and so unselfishly And I made a vow so I tell you now I'm giving you the best that I got, baby I bet everything on my wedding ring I'm giving you the best that I got, givin' it to you baby
  6. MICK FLEETWOOD, another great drummer, has also been said to be the inspiration for The Muppets' ANIMAL...note the uncanny resemblence between the two. ::

    Shrek 2

    Saw it 3 times...loved it!
  8. I think my name is pretty damned obvious! :: Seems kind of bland. MuzikTyme...I agree about the time allotted to fix posts.
  9. I have to like, or be able to tolerate, more than just one or two songs from a band, excluding of course the one hit wonder, unless that one hit sucked, and in the case of the Go Go's, Air Supply and REM, I can't. (Jon) Bon Jovi..I can only tolerate them (mainly him) for so long. All his lyrics are so cliche, similar, unoriginal, and some cases, ridiculous. The dumbing down of America started with "Shot through the heart and you're to blame; darlin' you give love a bad name". No one could write anything that stupid and not be joking. The scary part is they weren't joking...with the exception of "Wanted Dead or Alive". Comparing Springsteen to Jon Bon Jovi is like comparing Rembrandt to the drunk transient who spray painted an obscenity on the dumpster behind a Denny's.
  10. If you downloaded a program from the Web to get rid of spyware, because an alert window popped up claiming to have "detected" it, then you are likely the victim of that downloaded program doing to you exactly what it promises to protect you from. We run a program on our PC 24/7 that provides firewall protection. Nothing has gotten past it in the 2 years we've had it installed. The program maintains a log of what someone tried to send out, how they tried to get in, and it lists senders' IP addresses (likely not their own if they are hacks). We have some other program running too, and now I can actually count how many pop up ads we get in one month. We currently get 15 or less pop up ads vs. the hundreds we used to get in just one week.

  12. Rita Coolidge did "Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher" as well, and her singing voice was also deeper.
  13. How much can we say here and not incriminate ourselves? Is this entrapment? Is someone going to get our IP addresses and sell them to the RIAA? :: Sure, we download, and we do it a lot, but not from a peer to peer site. We have literally thousands of music mp3's, and every movie that comes out in the theater is ours in a day or two. Recent movies we downloaded were Shrek 2, Troy, The Godsend and Van Helsing. Passion of the Christ came on Ash Wednesday; we watched it that Saturday night. We are not, and would not ever sell any movie or music CD's; everything is for our personal use only. Do I feel bad? Hell NO...not when going to one movie with my son and husband can cost over $60.00. Who's guilty of highway robbery? "Not I", said the cinematically and musically ecstatic! My mp3's range from 192 to 320 kbp's.
  14. Here are the clues I didn't post before. 1 Criticized for their name being too much like Led Zeppelin 2 Kicked out one drunken guitarist; the other died from drinking 3 Car accident took half of one band member's talent
  15. ?Lead guitarist - Jimmy Page ?Rhythm guitarist - Pete Townshend ?Bassist - Flea ?Percussionist - Neil Peart ?Keyboards - Jon Lord ?Lead vocals - Ed Vedder (still young; voice isn't going)
  16. Motorhead! I opened it up and saw the pictures. Only after seeing the pictures did I read the posts. Kind of like putting a screw and a ball picture together.

  19. Roger Daltry! I just played (and cranked up) "Love Reign O'er Me"; hadn't heard it in a while...wow!
  20. By the Ozark Mountain Daredevils: one of my favorite songs. Seems to me it is about a woman who is in pursuit of happiness but never gives anything a long enough time to make her happy. She gets bored too easily - she's flighty, or indifferent.
  21. Charles, I listed "Run Joey Run" on the Worst Songs Ever board. That girl singing, for some odd reason, based on voice alone, reminds me of Linda Blair!
  22. It isn't that I do not like their music; there are so many songs by these artists that I love, excluding the poster child for Exlax, Michael Bolton. I just think that their singing voices aren't as good as their songs, and that they'd sound even worse singing outside the studio - like perhaps in the shower.
  23. I always thought that "Remedy" from The Black Crowes sounded like both "25 or 6 to 4" and "Feeling Stronger Everyday" by Chicago I forgot about it until I listened to "Remedy" today.
