I watched an interview with Pete Townshend on TV where he talked about Tommy, and he said that Tommy's disciples want a shortcut away from their problems, but that's not something he provides, and that's also the reason why they turn against him. He wants to show them what he went through and wants them to reach a higher level of spirituality by playing pinball deaf, dumb and blind. Such a weird story, I could never make that up...

Yeah, indeed, he's free because his mother smashed the mirror that he was kind of trapped in. He always gazed at his reflection and this was the only thing he could really see. Now Tommy wants his disciples to follow him; "How can we follow?" and says he's their Messiah. Kind of.

I'm looking for a song that I know only ten seconds of.
