  1. Yeah, Skynyrd was FAR from classy. Especially when you look at the backgrounds they had from growing up where they did. I think (pronounced leh-nerd skin-nerd) deserves to be on the list! ::
  2. So one musical genre that seems to have a huge concert following but seems to get very little air play is the Country (and Folk) Rock genre. So I decided to start a nice idle discussion about it. Who's your favorites, what's your favorite songs, who have you seen in concert, do you have any Songfacts, any bits of information. For those who don't know who is defined as Country Rock, here's a listing... - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Poco - Pure Prairie League - The Eagles (Country/Soft Rock) - Charlie Daniels Band (Country/Southern Rock) - The Marshall Tucker Band (Country/Southern Rock) - The Byrds - Bob Dylan (Country/Soft Rock) - Buffalo Springfield (Country/Soft Rock) - Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young (Country/Soft Rock) - Alabama - The Band If you look at the band listings, this is a very old genre with some pretty deep roots.
  3. Well, some of their music is good hard rock music, but nothing you can bang your head to. I think maybe the heavy metal fans just didn't have enough to choose from as the genre was still pretty fresh during those years. I would think they would follow Led Zeppelin more than Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  6. I own 10 off that list. But I have several "greatest hits" for artists that appear on the list as well. It's quite a varying list.
  7. Actually, in the mid-70's they drew quite a crowd in the UK and a couple other areas in Europe. But I doubt they have much of a fan base out there anymore.
  8. ... and not a single Lynyrd Skynyrd album on the whole list...

  10. I consider myself to be very beautiful.
  11. That's not what I was referring to Rach. I was referring to modern times on a global scale.
  12. Can I just post a picture of myself? ::
  13. It's amazing how the United States can police the entire world and keep pretty much everyone in check while being constantly hated for our actions. I'd like to see how many countries get horribly invaded, raped, tormented, and picked apart at the seems when the US closes its' eyes and tells everyone "you're on your own".
  14. Just added: Tesla Here's the update for Friday's line-up Friday July 15 11:00 Journey 9:00 Tesla 7:00 David Lee Roth 4:30 Wishbone Ash 3:00 Panoramic Blue
  15. I don't know if I'd like to see Robert Plant try to sing like he used to. He may have an aneurism or something.
  16. In the US we have decided that good gas mileage is not as important as speed, towing power, size, and looks. That's what I was referring to.
  17. I heard Sammy went through a whole box of cubans with her...
  18. I agree with that statement 150%. I wish car makers would concentrate on cars that get really good gas mileage (around 60 mpg or so) instead of worrying about how fast I can make it to the gas station.
  19. The Doors of the 21st Century are playing at Moondance Jam!! Now that's gonna be awesome. Here's their current line-up. KEYBOARDS: Ray Manzarek GUITAR: Robby Krieger VOCALS: Ian Astbury BASS: Angelo Barbera DRUMS: Ty Dennis
  20. You can call me Aaron... Or hot sexy sweet stud... Or Vice Pope Addicted I... Or the Skynyrd fanatic... Doesn't matter, take your pick.
  21. I give it 45 minutes. That's how long it took U2 to sell out when tickets went on sale for their Minneapolis show.
  22. That is only a half truth. We have US workers there providing services, but most of the goods being purchased are not coming from US companies. We are spending billions of dollars which is going into the pockets of corporations around the world so we decide to hire our own citizens to install all the new equipment. Everyone, please remember what the US has actually accomplished in Iraq though. These people now have a better health care system (hospitals and clinics), much better educational systems, a better water system, small business owners are re-opening shops that were closed due to Hussein's reign, and we have allowed the people to choose their leaders rather then the leaders appointing themselves (although this seems to be quite a struggle). Many don't know this because it's rarely shown on television or read in the newspapers, but the US has raised the standard of living in Iraq and made it a healthier and more educated area (or at least they have started to). Hussein robbed his people of the essentials needed to survive and the US has made it possible for people to regain these simple things. Can any of you imagine living with little health coverage and hardly any educational facilities? How about going without public radio or public newspapers? Or being forced to close because of government sanctions. Everyone likes to focus on the bad, but there are many good things going on as well. These people are now being properly fed and clothed and cared for, something they haven't seen in a really long time. Oh yeah, and P.S., "Liberate Iraq" has little to do with the war on terror. They are two separate issues being sought after by separate military groups. The "War on Terror" continues throughout the deserts of the Middle East as UN soldiers continue to search for Osama Bin Laden and his army.
