Almost in a stereotypical way I lean towards the Beach Boys when I think of summer. If there is one song that brings it home, I'd say it is Catch a Wave. However, I recall my first summer ever spent in Wildwood, NJ...it was 1967 (next summer will 50 years I've spent going to my favorite shore place. The Himalaya ride was near the boardwalk and the operator continually played Light My Fire that first summer. No matter when i walked by it was The Doors classic. So, that song also brings good summer memories.

The PGA Championship stops by my town in two months at Baltusrol Golf Course, Springfield, NJ.Even two months in advance you see signs going up directing the TV crews to certain locations. New fencing has gone up so nobody can sneak any free peaks at the action. It's one of the majors so we get all kinds of celebrity types coming through. We are close to NYC so we get that action too.

As always my town does an oldies show on July 4th. This year it's Ron Dante (the voice of the Archies) and The 1910 Frutigum Company. Always a fun show and only a 10 minute walk from (5 if I hurry)my house.
