  1. Oh, sounds like the J5... Well, no kidding, have you seen bluesboy´s reply?
  2. Even if his comeback (15 years ago?) wasn´t CCR, John Fogerty IS CCR... So I wouldn´t mind if I was him, he´s done one of the greatest pages of rock and roll. And I´ll allways be a Fogerty fan.
  3. I know little about the R&R C of the Rolling Stones and co. I know it was done for TV and I even saw it on TV ten years ago. Isn´t it available on dvd or video?
  4. Brian Jones could have gone far if he wasn´t him: a genius with a head full of drugs and drowing in the pool... maybe that´s part of the rock legend. Just as Jim Morrison, who died due to alcohol-heroin-heart attack-?? Or Elvis, music heroes whose bodies wouldn´s stand no more. I believe the doctor who made the prescriptions for Elvis is (or was) in jail. John Lennon also died too soon, but this time it wasn´t his fault...
  5. Dave Brubeck "Take Five". It´s a classic and it´s great.
  6. I remember back in early 80s, Robert Smith had his own band, Cure, but he also played guitar with Siouxsie and the Banshees. He could hardly go on tours having two jobs at the same time! By then his music was dark and curious. I like his songs now, and the acoustic versions are fine too.

Thanks! I´ll try Google thay way. I tried Mindcrime´s trick but it didn´t work... I have a Macintosh and I´ve been told on some site (don´t remember which one) that you can´t get some information with mac.
  8. Diggs, I don´t find no "Summer Breeze" by the Isley Bros. Are you sure it´s not Seals & Croft, as Carl said?
  9. Well, I´m talking of the Seals & Croft "Summer Breeze"... I thought there must be a version by the Isley Brothers if anyone says so. In fact, I will check out if it´s the same.
  10. If you talk also about classics or Sinatra, I could mention a belgian genius, Jacques Brel, and a French one, Serge Gainsbourg. In fact, Terry Jacks sings a couple of Brel songs ("Seasons in the sun" and "If you go away", as well as David Bowie with "Amsterdam") But there you should speak french to get the whole art of it. And I admit this isn´t very much "rock", it´s rather popular music.
  11. Does anybody know sites where I could find the name of the song just by writing part of the lyrics? I have some lyrics trackers but they don´t find my requests. I mean, if I´m trying to find Brown Sugar, a place where I could just write "you should have heard him just around midnight", or so...
  12. What year was it, by the way? I recall it from maybe 1972...
  13. Bob Seger- Still the same Bob Dylan- Positively 4th street Deep Purple- Hiway Child Neil sedaka- Breaking up is hard to do Patti Smith- Free Money Rolling Stones- Strange Stray cat Jimi Hendrix- All along the watchtower (best than the original...) Beatles- Please Mr. Postman (the best one ever...)

    John Lennon

Denmark is absolutely right. And "Gimme the truth" is my favourite lennon.

    John Lennon

John Lennon (beatle and solo) is still and always on top. AND Bob Dylan. The world would be different if not for them. There are some others left, sure, but Lennon and Dylan were my teachers (thogh I´ve always been a fan of the rolling stones)
  16. There is a version by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
  17. I can´t imagine Joan Baez singing "babe I´m gonna leave you"... It´s real? Where can I find that song? It must be weird...
  18. Wow, it´s amazing... I never heard this before... Sounds like "Paul is dead" and all that backwards stuff... anyway, thanks for the explanation, I´ll try and check as soon as I find my Wizard of Oz DVD
  19. Could it be Get Up Kids? They´ve been many times on MTV and they do have a version of that song.
  20. Blondie or JGeils Band are great to hoover the house in the morning!
  21. Something I don´t understand. What has to do Dark Side of the Moon with the Wizard of Oz?
  22. There are also very good versions, like the album "I´m your fan", where lots of artists cover Lonard Cohen songs, in some cases better than the original. Ramone´s "Needles and Pins" is better than the Searcher´s one. And there´s that Elvis Presley great version of Bob Dylan´s... I can´t remember the title, the song ending with "yes and only if my true love is awaken... and I´ll lay by her side once again".
  23. So everybody likes Supertramp?
