I did like a lot Tuxedo Moon, I heard "Suite en Sous-sol" and I found it very differerent to other music of that kind. I worked with them in a couple of TV shows, even had some fun together... Peter Principle was a very tall and cool guy. There was also Blaine Reininger, the brain, and Steve Brown by the time... Last thing I heard from them was "Ghost Sonata". Do you know Blancmange? They were around at the time, I liked them very much.

I also had to get rid of almost... 4000 albums, more or less, in the last 20 years. I have no room for, as you call it, a record store. I would have loved to be a collectionner!!! Hope you can get to have a pretty good one!!!

I´ve worked for many years with the "avant-garde", or so-called, trend in music: by the time, call it Residents, Tuxedo Moon, Diamanda Galas, SPK, even Peter Gabriel and many minimal, conceptual etc. music. I was supposed to be a "connoisseur", but when I had a little time off, I used to go to another office (we were making TV programs) where some friends of mine did a nostalgia pop-show and there watch videos of Motown, Bee Gees, Carpenters... or french music like France Gall, Françoise Hardy, Michel Polnareff and so. And some years before, of course, being 17 and smoking pot and going to the Rolling Stones, King Crimson or Santana concerts, you´d better hide even the Beatles albums... The first 70s were hard!!

John Lennon wrote "Working Class Hero" with the line "When you´re still [bleep] crazy..." in 1970. The BBC replaced the F... by BEEP, but I recall in 1980, spending Xmas with my family in London, Lennon´s death was so close in time that they waved the song with the bad word inc.

Bluesboy, "I´ve been loving you too long" is the top of all the sugestions. I´m nearly crying just remembering it (mainly coz I have all my records packed and I can´t listen to most of my music right now!!!) Tina Turner, Rolling Stones and specially, of course, Otis Redding made the best covers.

I saw it once in a documentary on TV, I can´t remember very well but it has something to do with survival... no kidding, seems that being like that, depredators get confused when they run after a group of zebras, not knowing where one begins or the other lasts... I laughed a lot when I heard that theory, I still believe it´s childish, but that´s what I heard.

Just like the Rolling Stones...gather no moss.

By the way, I think the performance I´m talking about was not Monterrey Festival of 67 but his last tour before the plane crashed. He plays with the Bar-Keys, his last band, and also with Booker T and the MG´s. ...I should check the video but I don´t know where it is right now.

In that Monterrey Festival he introduces "Respect" saying: "I´m gonna do a song which has been stolen from me by my friend Aretha Franklin", or something like that.

Oh, that´s true... it´s about "rain", so it´s a good one!!!
