  1. Hello all, I'm trying to come up with a song for my reception to dance with my stepfather. Sort of a 'Thanks for always being there' type of song. Not too lovey dovey. We don't have that kind of relationship. Thanks in advance for your help.
  2. You've all been very helpful. The reception should be a success! Thanks to all.
  3. Thanks a bunch vincegillstwin. I have some of those you listed and wiil check out the rest. If you get a minute, I'd be grateful for some of the others you mentioned, danceable country, 80's, 90's, etc.
  4. Uncle Joe, maybe you should come to the reception and teach my husband to be how to dance. I love um but, damn, the man has no rhythm on the dance floor!!! I keep telling him that less is more when it comes to movement on the dance floor but he just can't seem to control himself. :happybanana: Unfortunately, you might have to put some clothes on. Dress is casual, but I think your attire might be just a little over the top! Thanks for all the suggestions.
  5. Hello all. I am compiling a cd or 2 of good, get out on the floor and shake it dance songs. I'm not really interested in a lot of the songs from today but from the 60's thru 90's. Please no hiphop or rap. This music is for my wedding reception and I want to get everyone into it. The guests will be mostly of the over 30 crowd. Thanks in advance.
  6. I'm trying to figure out some of the lyrics for this song. I've been to a couple of websites and have gotten 2 different lines so I don't know if either one of these is right or if it is something entirely different. The line is at the end of the 2nd verse and it is spoken, not sung. To me is sounds like "wouldn't trade it for all the world", but the websites say different. Anybody know?
  7. Thanks so much XXX for doing all the research for my song, but Muziktyme hit the nail on the head. I just listened to a clip of it on cdnow.com and the ZZ Top version is indeed the one I was looking for. "I Thank You" both.
  8. I think you got it. Thanks for the help!
  9. I heard it the other day on the radio and the guy who was singing it had kind of a rough gravelly voice. Not Tom Jones though. I grew up listening to his music. My mom was MADLY in love with him. I'd know his voice anywhere.
  10. That's one version but the one I'm thinking of is sung by a male singer. Maybe the original? I'm not sure.
  11. I need some help with a song. It'll probably be an easy one for you. The lyrics are: "You didn't have to love me, but you did, but you did, yes you did, and I thank you." What is the title of the song and who sang it? Thanks.
  12. :thumbsup:Very thankful for the help and for the wish of good luck. I found it at Amazon.com just like you said and ordered it. Thanks again.
  13. Does anyone know where I can get this song? Not getting any results on the internet. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Thanks so much. Funny song. Thought it would get a laugh at our reception!
  15. Who sings the country song Marie Lavoe? I heard it on the radio but they didn't say who sang it and I want to play it at my wedding reception. Thanks to anyone that can help.
