I'm new so sorry if this one has been done before. Stellastarr* - nice New York art school grads, playing punky, tuneful songs. Can't think who they sound like though the lead singer at times sounds uncannily like a certain Dave Vanian (Damned). Excellent live as well - one of the highlights of this year's Glastonbury. Also saw them in a small venue in Bristol earlier this year, supported by no less than the Killers (yeh, there's a fairly similar sound going on there)!

The first album I actually bought (i.e. not taped or stolen) was Synchronicity - the Police. I was ten. Ten years later I had my car stolen and was gutted because the old LP was in the boot, so sentimental!
