  1. No Quarter (really unapreciated) All My Love (beautiful) Houses Of The Holy (Stairway would be number four or five)
  2. I got one Green Day - Good Charolette
  3. I just picked up Cheap Trick's (I thought they had gone the way of REO speedwagon) new CD, "Special One" and i really really really recommend it, just a few of my favorites from it are, "Scent of a Woman" (just a fun up tempo song) "Special One" (one that kind of differs from Cheap Trick's usual style, it's more complex) "Pop Drone" (a lash out to the pop music world, very cool ) and "My Obsession" (my favorite song from the album, it's awesome ) and those are just my favorites, there are a lot of other good ones too. But i recommend that everyone here goes out and buys this album (try to get the one with the DVD, the CD still only costs thirteen bucks and the DVD has some cool stuff on it) and then i recommend that everyone gets Warren Zevon's "the Wind" also, because i believe that those are the two best albums of 2003 (along with all the stuff Johnny Cash released)
  4. Alderron is a planet from "star wars" it's where princess Leia was from.
  5. Here's my opinion on the whole file sharing thing (i can be a little long winded) now, i'm only 15, but i know my rock history, i've been heavy into music since two years ago when i found my dad's bootleg White Album, i was instantly hooked, I think that i might honestly be one of the only people in my "age demographic" in my "community" (God, i love qoutation marks)(and parantheses for that matter) (But who doesn't : and i'm probably the only person my age who actually owns a turntable and a sizable record collection. but anyway.... now for the past two years i've been stickin' to my good wholesome rock (I generally stick with bands that started '60-'94 in my opinion everyone who started of '94 is crap (besides bands with "veteran" members such as the Foo Fighters and Audioslave) so back on topic, a few weeks ago my friends convinced me to buy Linkin Park's "Meteora" ("it's such a good album" they said) so i plop down my twenty bucks put it in my CD player and...... IT SUCKED i mean come on I have lots of albums where the bands put effort on ALL of the songs, not just the singles (amazing. i know i was shocked too) so in my opinion if the record labels want me to spend twenty bucks on a CD in a cheap cardboard case, my reply is BITE ME, I'M GONNA GET MY MUSIC FOR FREE!!! now if y'all don't mind i'm gonna listen to my "Nevermind" album (all the songs are good on that album, weird huh?)
  6. my favorite acoustic guitar solo is easily the one in the middle of the Eagle's Hotel California when they did it for Mtv, it totally rocks!

    Band Names

I have to agree with Ken on the Stevie Ray Vaughn I mean he was a great guitarist and all, but his singing and pretty much droll lyrics kind of turn me off (I think that if he had just been a guitarist in a band would've worked better)

Okay Lunachick Clapton is not overated, have you ever heard of Cream? Clapton did some of the greatest, longest, and downright exhausting solos known to man when he was with them, though Jimmy Page does beat him (he should be #1) Clapton belongs at the bottom Clapton is God

    Band Names

not only do a lot of bands have weird names look at various music publishers and the like, for example Alice in Chains was produced by buttnugget publishing
  10. I'm sorry to say this but there are so many bands that if you looked back you could say were completely original, like for example the Doors were definately something new, I mean they might have used a blues style, but they weren't ripping anybody off and also Jim Morrison was litterally a genius (seriously in high school he had a IQ of I'm pretty sure of this 149 and i think that legally you're considered a genius with a IQ of 120) and believe me he only got smarter after that (must read book= no one here gets out alive, it's an exellent Jim Morrison biography) and then there were bands like the Beatles who completely changed music, then there was the Eagles in the '70s who might of been influenced by steely dan, but everybody is influenced by somebody, though not nessacarily other bands (for example Jim Morrison was mainly influenced by poets and philosephers)i mean the Eagles were genius's (hotel california) and there wasn't really a specific category that could describe them (eventually they were unoffically called "california rock") and I love Nirvana and all but even they did there share of ripping off (not nessacarilly bad I'm pretty much obsessive over the band especially Kurt Cobain, ask any of my friends) like for example the song smells like teen spirit Kurt Cobain was qouted as saying that he was "basically trying to rip off the pixies" and then a lot of the bands you mentioned are just too new and it's kind of impossible to say that Nirvana and Alice and chains are both totally original on the same list for they were both early grunge bands (along with soundgarden) the later grunge bands started in 1992 (Pearl jam and Stone Temple Pilots) I rest my case
  11. i think the two best modern bands are Seether and Audioslave (though audioslave isn't techiniclly new)
  12. yeah this is a lot what a lot cd labels are doing to try and prevent burning, you see a lot of newer cd's will delete themselves or screw up the songs if you burn 'em
  13. aneurism you totally rock, you're totally correct when you say that Nirvana had some of the best lyrics (pennyroyal tea, heart shaped box, come as you are, and dumb, just to name a few) then to the person who totally dissed all of us conspiracy people, you kind of brought up an interesting point probably without knowing, when you say he OD'd and shot himself, that's kind of what happened, except it would be kind of hard to shoot yourself in the head when you just overdosed (not saying it's impossible just unlikely)
  14. yeah you mentioning the heroin reminded me of something too supposedly his heroin stuff (needle, bottle, etc) were all found put neatly in a box that he kept his drugs and stuff in (might of been dedicated to heroin complete, I'm not sure) but if he did have all that heroin, how could he have put all that stuff away so neatly, i mean his hands had to at least be shaking as bad as ozzy's do now
  15. Yeah they were (it's Chris Novaselic by the way)it was about using smells like teen spirit in the movie "moulin Rougue" Love wanted them to be able to use the song but Grohl and Novaselic didn't want them to, you see Love probably wanted Kidman's part, Moulin Rougue got the song though (sadly)
  16. actually Love did have something to gain, her inheritance. You see there's this rumor (very possible rumor at that) that Cobain saw his legal affairs lawyer shortly before his death (within days) and many people speculate that it was to discuss having Love cut out of his will, so that could be a reason that Love would have killed him or hired someone to kill him. Then this other interesting fact (nothing related to what i just said) the shotgun that killed Cobain was loaded with three shells. WHY??! most people who dilebarately shoot themselves (shotguns especially) only load the gun with one bullet to save time, and it's unlikely that those shells were leftover from previous use for a couple reasons 1) Almost everyone knows not to keep a gun loaded 2) Cobain wasn't much of a gun person (he was totally against violence, listen to the song "In Bloom") so I doubted that it was for hunting or anything, in fact the whole fact that he was shot already throws contreversy on his death because he just wouldn't own a gun though he might of just bought it to shoot himself, or maybe it was for self-defense, someone should look that up. You see that little bit right there is a major reason that I believe that Kurt Cobain was killed.
  17. Hey eggplant i would send some facts about cobain's death that support the idea of murder, but unfortunately you're not accepting private messages and at this point i don't feel like ranting publically (not sure how to spell that) and Nirvana is like my favorite band of all time
  18. I was just having a debate with a friend over if Kurt Cobain was murdered or if he commited suicide, I personally think that he was murdered for a number of reasons, whether it was Courtney Love or not (i believe that she had a hand in his death wether he pulled the trigger himself or not, but that's just me if you really want to hear me rant go ahead and email me) but anyway I was just interested in what everyone else thought
  19. it is without a doubt in my mind Calm like a bomb
