  1. It grinds my gears to go out to a restaurant late in the evening and people have small children there running around getting more and more overtired and irritable (not to mention loud!) I have been in a single parent situation growing up, and if we were at a restaurant past my bedtime (which rarely happened), my mum had packed something for me to keep me entertained like a book/game/toys. I feel so bad for the kids because they are bored and have nothing to do, so start acting up and the parents just continue enjoying their evening expecting everyone around them to just understand and basically babysit their kids for them. It's not cool at all!
  2. Batman's bat signal - I can't think of anyone who doesn't see this and know what IP it's from "Here's Johnny" - The Shining. Yup, this one is so well known and has been recycled in numerous movies/shows as a tribute
  3. First thought! Slow ride by Foghat, Love hurts by Nazareth and Lowrider by War ALL make me think of Dazed and Confused Stuck in the middle with you by Stealers Wheel for Resevoir dogs.
  4. Harold Perrineau (thanks google ) C A

  7. Ooh I remember this old thread and thinks it could do with a little action from the *bump* fairy My RC right now is that I watched the omnibuses of crappy reality shows all saturday long most saturdays Today, it's something called "Bad girls club" (season 4 - I checked online and they made 7 series...) and it's absolutely rubbish, but in Sweden there is never much to choose from on TV so you take what you get when you get it!
  8. Grattis! Have a very happy birthday Unks I hope today and every day is special for you. :guitar:

  11. The Sounds I only started listening to them after hearing one of their songs playing in a store in central Stockholm, but started listening to "Something to die for" over and over and have it on my regular playlist. It's pop with a slightly darker, sultry edge at times - they remind me a little of The Yeah yeah yeahs at times, but the Blondie comparison is very accurate The best of me Song with a mission Rock 'n Roll Wish you were here The no no song Better off dead
  12. I forgot to mention her fiery "Get some" video is pretty hot too!
  13. Being cool. Name something you think is underrated.
  14. I think it's a really nice thing to do - a lot of people don't keep books after buying them (apartments are tiny here so anything that takes up space is bad) so they get binned. In the UK they would usually go to charity shops, but I think there is a better way of recycling them too and letting others have a read before they get carted off.
  15. Oasis Most beautiful girl in the world
  16. Something to die for - The Sounds Loving this album for its catchy beats, Swedishness and the lead singer's husky voice that shouldn't (but does) mix with dancey music. 4/5
  17. Subway Name something that doesn't annoy other people half as much it annoys you.
  18. So my bad Brad! I saw Moby and my mind was on M (for Mark Ronson & The Business Intl)! How about this one instead... Animal
  19. Since I moved to Sweden, I have been more interested and exposed to Swedish artists, and have found that they have a lot more talent than just Abba, Aha or Kent! Yes, it is true! I have this little lady on my mix list and have listened to her latest album a number of times because it's beautifully written, raw and catchy. Listen here! Wounded Rhymes Tracklist Youth knows no pain I follow rivers* Unrequited love* Rich kids blues I know places Jerome Silent my song* All of the tracks have something special about them, and honestly, the whole album plays well from start to finish i.e. no doozy stocking-fillers. Stars next to particular faves of mine. Her previous album, Youth Novels, is also excellent - but doesn't strike the same chord (personally) as WR does.
  20. I posted lots! Do I win a prize?
