  1. It's mostly also to do with the cooling system (the little fan - pathetic in most PCs but it's the standard). Depending on the age of the PC - the older ones are usually the worst. There isn't sufficient cooling inside the machine often due to there not being good space between the back of the machine and other obejects like the wall, a desk etc. The more the fan/holes are blocked, the less air gets inside to cool things (mostly the graphics card) which causes them to overheat = shut down. Clearning out the dust and hair helps clear out the things that are blocking the PCs ability to cool itself. I wouldn't recommend using a vacuum, rather a dry dust cloth as static inside the machine can cause worse damage to your other components (they're hardy things, but can be finicky at the best of times). Also any humidity + dust = cloggy, clumpy dust so keeping things dry is the best solution. /nerd.
  2. Happy birthday Marc! Always willing to share some funnies with us, here are some birthday funnies just for you... So let's eat cake and party! Just kidding, it's only your SF family that has adopted you Yes, we're a funny bunch admittedly, but we accept you just how you are
  3. Some of the best news this year! I was so sad to see the "Save our Bleuths" campaign fail when this show is leaps and bounds ahead of the majority of the drivel pumped out onto our screens. Yay!

  5. It's something that amazes me - the human mouth being used to be an instrument, percussion as well as for a voice and all at the same time! Does anyone have any favourites or any clips to share of beatboxing that amazed you? I have to share BeardyMan, whose been on the scene for a while but keeps coming up with new things to take it one step further (here's a clip from this year's Montreal comedy festival): Other names that I am aware of are THePETEBOX, Daichi, HIKAKIN (this video is unreal!), Kenny Muhammad and Nathan "flutebox" Lee (not beatboxing, but he often works with beatboxes using his own unique style). Any others you know of?
  6. They are awesome, Martin - Jättebra, tack!
  7. I hate being called Suzie. I am always introduced as Susan or Sue. I don't know why they think it'd be ok to overfamiliarize themselves so quickly, especially when I don't respond to them when they call me something other than my introduced name! Especially if they're older than me - it just creeps me out. Unless, of course, I am on a familiar level or just plain like them enough not to notice What does grind my gears is how incredibly nasty we can be about other people we don't know for the amusement of others. Specifically, talking about a facebook group I stumbled on through a photo link of a bad Halloween/cosplay costume. There were a load of others and the comments on them ranged between vile, despicably vicious and sickening. Yes, I am pretty sure I have judged someone on appearance only and said something spiteful (absolutely no doubt about it), but usually because I feel self conscious about myself and if someone else looks worse - I win! Right? Hell, I'm angry at myself for having done it
  8. Just wanting to clear up that I had a few A-ha cassettes growing up in the 80/90s and all, so I am pretty familiar with the band The 2 songs mentioned above I liked along with Crying in the Rain, Cry wolf, The living daylights, The blood that moves the body, Stay on these roads, Touchy and The sun always shines on TV. Plus I don't know many girls I was friends with growing up that didn't have the hugest crush on Morten!
  9. Oh Sammy, you're so silly I know they had plenty hits, I meant songs from Norweigan artists I am sure there are more than just A-ha!
  10. The intent of my apparent boldness came in admitting that I did not know a lot about Swedish music until I came here If I were to list every Swedish band that had a top 100 hit it might have been too pedantic but the sentiment was with the top bands I could think of at the time that I liked most And yes - A-ha are from Norway - perhaps I should start listening to more of their music too
  11. Hmmm, I've not got an answer right now but I have enough friends who get games from all over the world so should be able to get an answer for you
  12. The only stuff I buy are video games and video game figurines. I don't have the space to store anything (as well as not wanting to have the possibility of needing to pack it and move it again) I tend to keep things very simple. I'd like to have somewhere to put my things, but I don't fall prey to the "stuff" temptations at all
  13. Apparently there's a country song called: '73 - Jennifer Hanson

  15. ^^ KEN!! Look everyone, it's KEN!! Lust for life (Iggy Pop) from Trainspotting. I remember I was just too young to see this when it came out and was "forbidden to see such filth!" by my mom (but did anyway) and loved every rebellious second of it. Good times
  16. I got the Gears Of War 3 special edition. Yes, I am not going to even be able to play the game until I'm back in the UK and only for a day or 2 anyway... but I had to have the cog. I had to have the cog!
