  1. My beautiful, beautiful neice. She's not even a year old and she's already practically running around the house.
  2. Awwww, I thought this was a general plea to be educated and I was gonna share an interesting fact about the octopus. But I better stick to the subject. I don't actually know too much about Jim Morrison, but my ex kinda looked like him when I first met him. P.S. I hear he made some alright music
  3. It says it's mp4...is there anyway to convert songs like that? It's weird coz it's in itunes on my computer and I thought they converted everything to wma...but maybe not.
  4. 1. Maybe Tomorrow - BADFINGER! (Thanks for introducing me to this one Laurie, I love it! ) 2. Get Ready - Temptations 3. Stand By Me - John Lennon 4. I Heard It Through Through The Grapevine - Gladys Knight and the Pips (Haven't been able to listen to this since they put it in a really annoying cereal ad over here, but this version has got me loving it again) 5. Mama Weer All Crazee Now – Slade
  5. Aaarrghhh! New problem. I've tried putting a particular song onto Windows Movie Maker, but I get this message... "The file cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again." I have no idea what that means, anyone able to translate?
  6. Thanks Farin! For once again helping me with my technological insufficiencies
  7. What is the easiest way to upload a song onto Youtube? I'm not wanting a video, just an image, but I get confused once they start talking about file types etc.
  8. Glad I'm not the only one. I'm not a huge ABBA fan, so I probably never would have loved it, but you'd have thought they could have hired actors with better voices.
  9. Ha I went to comment on this, and realised that I actually started the topic, though back when I was in High School which feels wayyy longer ago than it actually was. My faves... 80's= The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles 90's= Jawbreaker, 10 Things I Hate About You, Empire Records, Clueless 00's= Mean Girls
  10. Free concert of Girl Talk?!! Arrghh I'm jealous, but it's not like he's not worth paying for and he IS fantastic live!
  11. 1. Smooth - Santana featuring Rob Thomas 2. Unforgettable - Natalie Cole w/ Nat King Cole 3. Over the Rainbow - Judy Garland 4. Georgia on My Mind - Ray Charles 5. Hound Dog - Elvis Presley 6. 12. I learnt of all these songs through my parents! The only annoying thing is when mum sings along- she's pretty much tone deaf, and lets be honest, who wants to hear their mum sing about having massive balls!?
  13. 1. As Long As I Have You - Led Zeppelin 2. Killing Floor - Howlin' Wolf 3. Driving Wheel - Little Junior Parker 4. Don't Know Why I Love You - The Persuasions 5. Gram Parsons- She 6. Low Society - Lowell Fulson 7. Just One of Those Things - Billie Holiday 8. Old Devil Moon- Frank Sinatra 9. Romantic Warrior - Return to Forever 10. Symphony No. 9 - Dvorak Lots of new stuff discovered, thanks Bluesboy!
  14. La Vita è Bella (Life is Beautiful)- 10/10 Such a beautiful movie, sad and funny at the same time and just fantastic. I watched it in English, but if you can get a hold of it in Italian with subtitles I would recommend it as some of the Italian accents on the dubbed version are terrible and the dubbing has a bit of an old-kungfu movie vibe.
  15. 1. Dazed and Confused- Led Zeppelin 2. Shine on You Crazy Diamond- Pink Floyd 3. Across the Universe- The Beatles 4. When the Music’s Over- The Doors 5. Golden Slumbers/ Carry That Weight- The Beatles 6. The Wind Cries Mary- The Jimi Hendrix Experience 7. White Winter Hymnal- Fleet Foxes 8. Intervention- Arcade Fire 9. Many Shades of Black- The Raconteurs 10. Starman- David Bowie I always get this uneasy feeling when I post these top tens coz there are so many awesome songs and not enough spaces. I had to force myself to post now, before I change my mind again, and I've already changed two songs just posting the darn thing. Great list, Rocky!!
  16. Hmmm nah, instead I think I'll join "Join this if you want the police to yell "PIKACHUUUUUU!!" before tasing"
  17. Thanks Edna! It's such a lovely song, it's on a really random Hendrix compilation, and I always knew it was a bit dodge seeming as what comes up as the name of the CD in i-tunes is somethng different to what the packaging says. Plus they credit this song as being 'Let Me Go' by the Stones, which it obviously isn't. You'd think Hendrix had enough of his own material that you wouldn't think people would try and pawn off someone else's as his. But then I probably never would have heard the song... And thanks Farin! I always thought Songfactors were technologically fabulous for the way they post link as words, but now it doesn't actually look too difficult so hopefully that means I can't mess it up..
  18. Hey y'all, I have this song called Let Me Go on some random Jimi Hendrix blues CD. The song is credited to Jimi sure enough, but I noticed people arguing that it isn't him when I went to listen to it on youtube. It certainly isn't his usual style, but then again, I'm pretty sure Jimi could do whatever the hell he wanted with a guitar. So now I'm confused. Does anyone have any clues to who is actually playing the song? You can find it here: One youtuber says it is You Are Too Much For the Human Heart by Herman Hitson...but I can't find that song and the link the guy gives to back it up isn't all that useful. P.S. How do you make links all fancy so they say whatever they are instead of just copying and pasting from youtube?
  19. Okay, this confused me. So, my login is an email address that I don't think I have used in four years or so...but I'm just stuck with it for logging on here?
  20. Thank you Ryansgirl!! I only just listened to this yesterday afternoon, which is a wee bit late for voting, but perfect timing for me. You managed to turn working in an inbound call centre in gross muggy weather on a Saturday afternoon after a Friday night of too much loud music, too much dancing, far too much fun and farrrrr too little sleep from being wrist-slittingly depressing to being sunshine-and-rainbows-and-bacon-and-strawberries-and-all-other-things-good-in-the-world-FUN!! Seriously, when hometime came I didn't wanna leave coz I still had ten or so songs left. You pretty much saved my soul. THANK YOU!!
  21. 1. Cry to Me- Solomon Burke 2. You Keep Me Hangin' On- Vanilla Fudge 3. My Old School- Steely Dan 4. Love Man- Otis Redding 5. Since I Don't Have You- The Skyliners 6. Smoke From A Distant Fire - Sanford-Townsend Band 7. Lonely Too Long- The Rascals 8. It's All Right - Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions 9. Rave On- Buddy Holly 10. Bust A Move- Young MC It was soooo hard to pick! And heaps I didn't know. Good list!
  22. There is a group on facebook titled "Don't Kanye me or I will Chris Brown you and Tiger Woods your Mother". Oh dear...
