  1. BWahahahaHAHHaha Too funny.
  2. Wasn't "Burning For You" an early 80s song? Love it
  3. Welp, if Futurist Noise like Einsturzende Neubauten counts as "uplifting," then I don't mind listening to that too
  4. I'm the same way. The times I've had to get over someone, I didn't listen to songs with a theme of getting over or overcoming, but rather kept an overall sad tone. Clan Of Xymox and Visage in a furious loop!
  5. Compulsion Charms in limited supply And refusing to stretch That indefinable nothing Somehow keeps pushing you Chorus: Finding the right words Can be a problem How many times must it be said There's no plan It had to happen Got to move on sometime And It's about time by putting one foot in front of another And repeating the process Cross over the street You're free to change your mind Strength through diversity Couldn't have put it more plainly Got to move on sometime Charms in limited supply Under threat of extinction That indefinable nothing Somehow motivates You (chorus)
  6. I thought it went: "he's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands" That's it! I'm playing this as soon as I clock out
  7. Marshall Crenshaw's "You're My Favorite Waste Of Time" was a demo released with all the mistakes and lo-fi sound Pretty cool, a bit hissy and poppy, but catchy.
  8. Whoa. Donna Lewis?! I used to go to HS with her! Oh, wait a min. No. I used to listen to that one song when I went to HS. I love you always forever... everywhere I will be with you... youuuu got... youuuu are.... I have that album somewhere and I still spin it. It's a goodie.
  9. Er... I think their downfall was with Some Girls
  10. http://www.coachella.com/get_flash/ 80 bucks a pop, though, plus the fees ticketmaster charges will bring it to an even 100 per day. Still, it's the only way so far you can see NewOrder in SoCal. The poster also had the name Bauhaus, but that word has been out of my vocabulary for almost ten years... hmmm. Anyone down for 120 degree weather and great music By the end of the day, you'll be charred to a crisp, but at least you've have gotten to see Gang of Four
  11. Pfwah Nothing the Rolling Stones cut after the abysmal Disco album is worth the time... well maybe some of Mick Jagger's solo stuff like "Don't Tear Me Up," but most of it is rubbish. They shoulda really quit the biz at 45 like they said they would.
  12. Hahahah! These are great choices! The only two albums I'd consider worthy of listening to are Tin Machine and Be Here Now; the rest could disappear off the face of the planet and wouldn't be missed ::
  13. Aren't most songs essentially about love of one way or another? It's a recurring theme that writers, poets, and artists exploit. How many ways can one say "I love her"? Very creative, by the way. I fall apart like a house of cards when wanting to express something like that, so I think it's great when I see someone else construct sentences with such precision and thought.
  14. I hate it when that happens. I find these rad pics sometimes and I forget to right-click-save them, so when I come back they're totally gone.
  15. "Baker Street" is a classic. This is what put the "night sound" in soft rock. You hear it again in bands and singers like Glen Frey, Steely Dan, and Mike Post. Of course, the album Baker Street wasn't the first to bring this sound to light. I've said it before and I'll say it again. It all initiated with the Taxi Driver score by Bernard Herrmann (a.k.a. god's gift to film scoring I'mnotworthyI'mnotworthy ). There may have been others before that, but once you hear the first few bars of that Jazz score it really hits you how much music began to sound like that afterwards
  16. What do you think of the status of our national health care? Crisis or not? Almost one in six are not insured (a little above 45 million last time I read). You really think the prez's plan will cover more people or will it at least make the cost of medical care slow down? In the US, it is estimated to cost $4800 per capita per year to pay for medical services... or 13.8% of the national budget (the highest in the world), and, yet, we have 45 million people without insurance, have high amounts of disatisfaction with our health care system when compared with other developed nations, we also don't have better health as a nation (in fact, we're the fattest country on the planet!). Are MSA's really up to the task of fixing this? Does it need fixing in the first place? Are you okay with having a high infant mortality rate when compared to other industrialised nations? Whoo-wee. I'm a press conference all by myself on one subject
  17. Hugh Burns :guitar: This song kicks ass. That's all there is to it. This one, besides Steely Dan's "Deacon Blues," is one of my all-time favourites. They're my theme songs!
  18. Could you imagine if I was pure, 100% XXX? I'd be like everclear. It's better with XXX-lite
  19. This is too funny. I guess this doesn't Durutti Column apply to me since NewOrder I seldom talk about things advertisers Death In June would ever notice to mark up
  20. Case was dropped and he stuck to his story that it was for "research" and that he didn't know it was illegal to buy child pornography for "research." Total bs. Yeah, I'm gonna write a paper on marijuana, so I'm gonna go to the street corner and do some research on the 10-cent baggy phenomena
  21. This one is good, but I thought it was a tv movie instead of a series. The look of the whole movie is very 80s: neon and pastels galore. For a moment I thought Brian DePalma directed this, but it was some unknown director
  22. Wha'ppen to the search members function? Thanks
  23. Townshend and Glitter are purveyors of child pornography, so that would make them paedophiles. Now, looking 16 is not an excuse to get ya out of jail. For instance, I couldn't say to the officer, but she looked 16 and expect him to let me off with a warning. Actually, if the age disparity of ages is wide, it's immediately placed as statutory rape. The girl was under 16, so that only aggravates the situation. Yeah, she looked 16 and was a model and had a great bod and everything. I don't even know if I could resist someone that's great looking, but I digress... 8 years in state pen is a good way to channel those thoughts to someone legal and mature
  24. You are sooo money, Edna, and you don't even know it ::
