**SPECIAL NOTE: It's agreed most of us like the idea of doing a list of 10, so we're going to give it a shot, as long as the number of nominations support a list that size. It isn't much fun doing a list of ten, from 20 or less nominations. We've decided that a list of 30 however, is very do-able. For that, we need 15 participants. THE SONGFACTORS' CHOICE: Best Band Logos

Here's the general idea for this one:

Just like corporations and NASCAR drivers, most bands have their own logos - some better than others. What makes band logos fun is that they're rarely professionally designed, so you can end up with a former band member (Aerosmith), someone's brother (Black Flag), or a lead singer who went to art school (Queen) providing the visuals.

What we want is to decide which band logos you think are the best, whether it be for how artistic and creative they are or how iconic they are, or a combination of both.

Everybody nominate your two favorite band logos and after nominations have closed, we will vote on the ten best in the same format as we would with the normal weekly top ten.

I'll keep nominations open for awhile, there's no need to rush for this, especially considering that Thanksgiving here in the states is coming up. I'll keep them open for a couple weeks and if it seems like we've got everybody who's going to nominate, then we'll open up the voting.

****: This time we're looking for the most creative, funniest, sadest, most impressive, or in one word BEST Music Video there is.

Be as creative with this description as you like, but note that we're not simply looking for videos of the "best songs".

* The Songfactors' Music of Choice will be decided by your nominations and votes. For each edition we'll ask that you nominate 1 OR 2 selections that meet the guidelines for that edition.

* With each nomination, we'll ask that you give us a review, a few thoughts or just a description of how your selection makes you feel. No one is being graded on their writing here. What we want is for you to share your knowledge and feelings about the music you love.

* Each edition will run 3 to 4 weeks. At the end of that time, we'll ask you to vote. You know how that works! These lists will number 5, so we'll ask that you compile your list of 5 choices for the final Songfactor's Music of Choice. We will tally them, just like The Songfactors' Choice Top Ten, 1 through 5 (or 10). At the close of voting, we will have our Songfactors' Music of Choice.

The Songfactors' Choice: Holiday Edition ! ! ! ! !

**** 'Tis the Season, so what we we are looking for is the best original Christmas song, be it in keeping with the holiday, or a bit tongue in cheek. We are going to run this edition quickly, with the results to be posted by December 15th. So put on your Santa hat and give us your nominations. Remember, this time what we DON"T want are songs that have become traditional Christmas songs.

**NOTE: MindCrime gave us a great suggestion for this go round. We're talking about albums that have broken new ground, altering the shape and/or direction of Rock 'n' Roll. From any time period, we mean all of the great popular music we've enjoyed from the '50's until today, whatever sub-genre it falls into. We'll again try to keep it a list of 10, as usual depending on the nominations we end up with. You know how it works!

The Songfactor's Choice: CHRISTMAS FANTASY WISH LIST ! ! ! !

***The Holiday Season is upon us. You are going to probably be putting a lot of thought, effort and maybe work into gifts that you'll be giving to friends and family. Songfacts is YOUR place. If you could put any two music related items on your list for Santa, what would they be? An album you've always wanted, but never quite gotten around to buying? Maybe a New Release that you've heard great things about. How about the Boxed Set that your favorite artist just released? Maybe there's a DVD, or a Book you've had your eye on, or even a Video Game, or Collectible of some sort. Check Amazon, surf the web, listen to the commercials on the radio. Remember when The Big Christmas Catalogues came out? The time you put into making your list? You know how to do this....you did it as a child, carefully thinking about your list for Santa.
