It was pretty clear early on that Bryan Adams had something in him that could connect. His early hits, like "Straight From The Heart," "Cuts Like A Knife" and "Run To You," came in his early 20's. Roughly 10 years later he wrote and performed 3 #1's: "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You," "All For Love" and "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman."
Songwriting was always the foundation of his craft, and he's one of those few guys who can write stuff that perfectly captures what we are feeling in certain very special moments:
"Is it so hard to believe we're in heaven?"
"There will never be another tonight"
Turning 50 years old on November 5th, it's time to start thinking of Adams in that performing legend category that includes Madonna and Bruce Springsteen - a complete musician who writes, produces and performs so many well-loved songs of the last 30 years.
We wanted to find out just how personal these songs are to him, which of his many collaborations was the most memorable, and, of course, what "Summer of '69" is really about.

and if for no other reason, go to the interview anyway just to see how Carl asked "the" question about "Summer of '69"! Classic!!!! I cannot believe he did that.

I had someone in Spain ask me once why I wrote the first line "I had my first real sex dream"... I had to laugh.
That guy must not have heard the "bought it at the five and dime" line.
