No. That wasn't it. She could have been a back up singer for a big name. She is Caucasian. I am familiar with Natalie M, Tori A, Roberta F, Rita C, Robin B, Roxette, All that have been mentioned - see what I mean??!!?? Darn I wish I would have checked it out right away! I totally appreciate the time each of you take to help me. Believe me b/c to know that basically much of the US is helping me is a relief, ya know? Thanks, again!

Hmmmm...so we have

Caucasian female singer.
Could have been a back-up singer for a big name.
Low voice/ballad/Fleetwood Macky.
First name starts with "R".
Song from late 80's early 90's.
Did not chart in the top 25.

Narrowing it down at least
Blue on blue
Heartache on heartache
Blue on blue
Now that we are through.

I know Christine McVie put out a solo album in that time period. But I think she was already ruled out, right.
What if The Hokey Pokey is what it's all about?

I thought about Ellen Foley, despite that her name doesn't begin with an R. She sang back up on "Paradise By the Dashboard Light" and has done solo work as well.

Robin Lee? (covered "Black Velvet" in 1990)

My real guess is Paula Cole, even though she doesn't fit all of the criteria. But she did sing backup for Peter Gabriel, and had a few singles in the early-mid 90s.

Maybe we could look up ballads of the 80's/90's somewhere...It's been a totally hectic and stressful week for me at work/home/etc.....so I haven't had much time for searchin....

Vonda Shepard???? She was a backup singer for Jackson Browne...

Not sure what year this song was, but you can at least listen to see if it's the same voice...

Possibly under your bed, but not in a creepy way.

I'm trying to picture how that could possibly not be creepy.
