  1. Early 1985 in the Dutch Top 40 hitparade had 3 entries called "The Power of Love". The highest position was for the song of Frankie Goes To Hollywood, somewhere in the middle was a song with the same title by Jennifer Rush, and just below her was Huey Lewis and The News's only hit record in The Netherlands. Are there other examples of different songs with identical titles storming the charts?
  2. "Eo eo" songs that I know: Banana boat song, Harry Belafonte. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow (heyo) Milow, Ayo technology. But that one is after 2004. Plus a few songs by The Police. Walking on the moon, Message in a bottle. Maybe more.
  3. I love the last line of Lola, by The Kinks. "I'm glad I'm a man, and so is Lola....". Is Lola also glad? Is Lola also a man? Excellent text by Ray Davies.
  4. Memphis Tennessee, that great classic of Chuck Berry: "Marie is only six years old, information please Try to put me through to her in Memphis Tennessee"
  5. Sad news. Just last week I was listening to Cream live recordings and wondering if ever someone managed to sing and play powerful basslines in one effort as he did...
  6. No nomination for Thin Lizzy? 1st rockband with 2 lead guitar players....? Booooohh!
  7. "Page says: "I'm sure people would love to hear it." Yep, count me in.
  8. De La Soul, Ring Ring Ring: "Hey, how you doin'? Sorry you can't get through Why don't you leave your name And your number And I'll get back to you".
  9. "Close your eyes, close the door..." That's not easy to do, Bob (I'll be your baby tonight).
  10. The very most beeeeautiful train song ever is Southern Pacific by Neil Young and the International Harvesters.
  11. A little history lesson, easy to sing along with. Snoopy vs. The Red Baron, by The Royal Guardsmen.
  12. Today I listened to Bruce Springsteen's new album High Hopes, that is to be released in a week or so. Someone collected the tracks in the short time they were on line. I think that the boss delivers another masterpiece.
  13. John Hiatt sang: "And when your back's against the wall Just turn around and you, you will see I will catch you, I will catch your fall." If your back is against a wall, and you turn around, you will see a wall. The Who sang: "The simple things you see are all complicated; I look pretty young, but I'm just backdated." If you want to pose younger than you are, you should be postdated, I'd say. Any other examples of non-logical lyrics?
  14. Ehhm, as a non-native speaker of the English language I'm about to learn something new here. Let me guess: does it also indicate bisexuality?
